Nice, but is it useful? I mean, do you have any torque to drive anything at 1/16 micro step and 4000rpm?

How long do you think this Nema Stepper Motor could run at 4000 RPMs? Also, is this dangerous for the Stepper Motors berings?

Check my video for a fast stepper motor. But the truth is that at that speed the torque of the motor is very low and practically useless.

@ptmove Hi, I'm new to stepper motors and I am trying to zero in on the right one for my project so I don't go overboard. I am trying to actuate a sewing machine pedal (or if possible the motor itself via a controller of my own design). The use case is a double amputee who wants to control the sewing machine with a mouthpiece under clench force. My first impulse was to build a servo controller to actuate the stock pedal itself, but it may be better to bypass the sewing machine controller and do it with an Arduino or similar. Mostly I just need to know if this motor in the video is more powerful than necessary for simply actuating a foot pedal (I'm guessing that floored the pedal would require 5-8 lb-ft of force).

Hi, Do you have a Controller Board with following specifications (RPM Controller via IR)? 1- Controller board should run on 12V DC. 2- Controller board should READ/DETECT RPM of an already running Motor-A via Infrared as its input. 3- Based on RPM of Motor-A, Controller board should run/turn another Motor-B on same RPM as of Motor-A PLUS 0% to 10% greater (should be adjustable). 4- Controller board should only give output to Motor-B, when Motor-A’s RPM will be within range from 1 to 3500 RPM. 5- If RPM of Motor-A increased from 3,500 (should be 500+- RPM adjustable) then input to Motor-B should be stopped immediately. 6- If RPM of Motor-A becomes

Maximum revolution speed depends on many factors. Some of them are: stepper motor, type of driver (control electronic), supply voltage, mechanical load, acceleration/deceleration strategy... To obtain exact value of useful revolution speed it is always need to perform an experiment. Regards

This video, and some others, are made during developing of one our stepper motor drive. Yes you are right, if you want to increase speed, supply voltage need to be increased. Maximum supply voltage is limited. Besides, we implement one control algorithm which allows us to drive motor so fast. You can also look at our videos: kzbin.info/www/bejne/nqDImmdrqMSqpZo kzbin.info/www/bejne/fWmlZYCPf6mjrdk

MACH 3 on a 64 bit operating system....How?
@ptmove
@ptmove 6 жыл бұрын
Mach3 has been designed to be used with Windows XP 32bit OS. This is true (or limitation) if you use printer (parallel) port. But in case of using external motion controller, such our USB-MC controller, Mach3 will operate on Windows 7, 8 or 10 OS with both 32 or 64bits. It is also possible to use tablet with Win OS as it is shown in video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/kH7QXmifgp56Y7c More details about our USB-MC motion controller can be found on page: www.audiohms.com/en/cnc-electronics-products/motion-controllers-and-breakout-boards/motion-controllers/usb-mc-motion-controller Best regards

@ptmove
@ptmove 7 жыл бұрын
Yes, you are absolutely right. But it is better to have zero torque at 4000 RPM instead of zero torque at 2000 RPM (or 1000 RPM). Do you agree? Regards

@lasr8827
@lasr8827 7 жыл бұрын
All motors have zero torque at top speed. That's why it's the top speed. It can't go any faster when torque is zero. So stating that 4000 rpm = zero torque is a moronic statement. So Alper Yasin Serim, while he is technically right, is also technically a moron nonetheless. It's like saying a jet engine has zero torque at 200 krpm. No shit genius. The reason why this controller is exceptional is because it's top speed is much much higher than conventional controllers. Most high-end controllers will max out at several hundred rpm.
@preddy09
@preddy09 6 жыл бұрын
Alper Yasin Serim, Not true. With AC motors they are speed limited by their commutation speed unlike dc motors which are speed limited by the motors free running losses at max rpm for a given voltage. Even in AC motors, if the commutation speed is maximized to what the free running motor can go then the torque will be zero, but usually nobody commutates AC motors like that, unlike brushed DC motors which self commutate and rate limit themselves automatically. So with brushed DC motors, your statement is correct, but not with AC motors. This stepper essentially an AC motor
@glennedward2201
@glennedward2201 6 жыл бұрын
I would argue if encoder was used you could essentially maintain a minute amount of torque. We see this in the new “so called” integrated servos which have an unloaded rpm of 4200 or sometimes more with a max torque approximately .5nm at max speed. Not much torque but some torque nonetheless and they don’t start to fall off until around 2800rpm. These newer integrated are using drivers similar to a induction vfd converting dc input to ac output and why they are producing torque at higher rpms. This isn’t what OP is using however interesting I’d like to know more this setup could be advantageous for upgrading exisintg systems without swapping entire motors.

Please read the comment from LASR. I will rewrite hos post in order to make it more polite: All motors have zero torque at top speed. That's why it's the top speed. It can't go any faster when torque is zero. So stating that 4000 rpm = zero torque is not right. While it is technically right, is also technically a nonetheless. It's like saying a jet engine has zero torque at 200 krpm. No way. The reason why this controller is exceptional is because it's top speed is much much higher than conventional controllers.
