In this video I show you the changes made to mount NEMA23 motors on the TopsCNC Heavy.

I was looking to buy a budget cnc router and ran across your build videos, and actually ordered a 3d printer just so I can build this cnc. Your cnc router is hands down the best looking and the most sturdy looking diy cnc machines I have seen. It is a very clean build and you have done an awesome job with this one. One thing that I would like to see is in your videos, when your putting bolts in, make an anotation on screen of the bolt size, kinda like a reference when someone is building it they can look at your video for reference, as there are so many different sizes and styles of bolts. For instance, the bolts in the ends of your gantry(10 on each end, they are button heads, but I'm not sure when ordering if I need to get them in button head, and not sure what the size is from just watching the video. Anyway, keep up the great work and I'm patiently waiting on printer to get here to get this project started.

Amazing amount of effort and a great bit of design. I would recommend some different fasteners and metal couplers instead of printed ones. I'm sure you had your reasons. Still it's mind boggling what you have built. Kudos to you. Please show us how it performs in aluminum.

I like your cnc machine and i have been taken note you inspire me to build my own. I like that you upgrade to the Nema 23. But i think you still under power because you are using one power supply You need to use 3 power supply so each Motor can get the amperage it need.. Unless that power supply gave you at least 8amps..... looking at your video on a big screen i see now that your power supply is 11amp, thats cool, i am impress

Nema23 are very strong, so they tend to bend lead screw Without bigger lead screw instead of T8 i prefer Nema17, with Nema23 I prefer bigger ballscrew like sfu1204

I too think this is an amazing build. well done and thank you for sharing. I was wondering though, for the C beam of the x-axis, are the 5 20*40 profiles stronger than a solid C beam that is 40*80?

If the connection of the 5 profiles is resistant to bending, then they have exactly the same stiffness as a one C- profile.

Which are the right pins of the Arduino to control the 3 motor controller. By using nema17 and the CNBC shield it is easy by attach the shield on the Arduino, but in case of the new controller i don‘t know how to attach . Could you please help me? Thank you very much

Why the printed couplers at t=532 ? were there no metal ones or was it just because you could print it? Either is obviously fine, I'm just wondering about possible technical issues. Thanks. This is such an amazing project! Though, I just discovered my printer might not print the new FrontRight_Or_RearLeft_Feet_NEMA23.stl My bed is 210 and cura says it's too big even thought the piece is only 204. aaargh! :) I'm going to test how far I can push the bed and perhaps shave a few mm off the bottoms of the four feet. Again, amazing project!

Hello, nice build I wonder if you have any problems with the heat from the big NEMA23 steppers on the 3d printed parts. I tested my motors today and they got really hot with 4.2 Amps Do you have any problems after 1 month in use?

Bien Belle réalisation. BRAVO La taille des pièces est impressionnante. Et la vitesse de déplacement aussi. Petite question : ne pense tu pas que les vis de 8 mm soient sous dimensionnées maintenant, avec ces plus gros moteurs. Il me semble les voir balloter un peu sur l'image (très belle aussi, bravo pour la réalisation du film). Cela peut il être gênant ? Mais combien de temps as-tu mis pour dessiné toutes ces pièces? N'étant pas au top avec Fusion 360, je n'ose pas imaginer. Encore Bravo et Merci.

Merci Beaucoup ! Si les vis de 8mm sont un peut faible maintenant que j'ai des moteurs qui peuvent tourner très vite, avec la force centrifuge elles ont tendance a balloter en effet ! J'ai pour projet de passer sur du 12mm minimum ^^ Je compte plus les heures, un peut tous les soirs et tous les weekends, quand j'ai du temps ^^ Encore merci ! :)

(Étant handicapé et sans voiture je peux difficilement aller dans un magasin physique et porter tout sur la tête lol) Est ce qu'on peut faire un tool changer pour mettre un laser ?
