How John hasn’t been awarded a knighthood yet is just unbelievable. This man has contributed so much to the UK theme park industry and should be recognised for it.

The blood river was such an iconic piece of theming on the original, and now it’s not there, it just feels like you’re bowling through a construction site 😢

its very touching to see this original creator give his blessing these are the things i dont get to see enough of , i wish more theme parks did this dont change something unless the original creator says so

I've got to say I was a little bit unsure of the colour change at first when I saw the design but seeing it all together now they definitely made the right choice, it looks amazing!

"an inverted roller coaster that went upside down, no one had ever done it before" but the first batman was in 1992 and it has more inversions than nemmy. I always thought nemesis was the 4th invert B&M constructed
@GoudLoodje8 ай бұрын
I think he meant in Europe. If he didn't, he mentioned the original Nemesis took over 2 years to build, so plans started before march of 1992 and maybe even in 1991, when Batman hadn't even opened to the public yet (Batman at SFGAm opened in may 1992) and maybe not even announced, though I don't know that last bit for a fact.
@iitzfizz8 ай бұрын
Yeah idk why he said that lol, it was first in Europe but Batman was first.

0:35 back when B&M track got delivered raw with no paint…unless Alton wanted to pay to spray it themselves?

The old adage if it aint broke don't fix it is so true. Should have been kept the way it was, no red an black, reborn rubbish or removal of front queue line. Nemesis rest in peace 1994-2022

The 'hole' sealed it's fate. They could never justify the cost of either digging more out or refilling it. If Nemesis wasn't in that hole it would have been replaced with something different.

Biggest waste of investment imo......Novelty will be gone within 12 months and will be back to walk on.
@PassoutProductions8 ай бұрын
No way you actually believe it would've been better to scrap what is arguably the most important rollercoaster in the UK?
@BBROPHOTO8 ай бұрын
I don't agree it was a waste of investment simply because Alton Towers, due to the geography, can't exactly put any other ride in place of this. The landscape is fully custom for that specific ride. Not just that, Nemesis being world renown means they *have* to maintain it as that ride single handedly puts Alton Towers on the map for international visitors, like KingdaKa did at Six Flags. That said, I agree the novelty will wear off pretty quick and the black and red paint won't wear very well, due to UV fading the paint and dirt showing up extremely well on the black. The good thing is that they've shown they're dedicated to the park instead of just letting it go to waste.

@sadiporter29668 ай бұрын
waste of investment? it would have been pretty cheap to do. They had to pay for ~90% new track but only a small portion of the supports needing replacing. The station didn't need rebuilding, not much electrical cabling to do other than replace the friction breaks with magnetic breaks. Re-theming isn't that expensive. They know that this ride is many people's favourite, getting rid of it would harm ticket sales. It is a shame that the seat restraints weren't changed for lap bar restraints though.
@somethingsinister84938 ай бұрын
Lap bar restraints don't exist for B&M inverted coasters. I'm not sure there's really a need.
