We recently purchased the Dagger Osmo 2P, a light weight backpacking tent from the company Nemo. I'm super impressed so far by the design, the materials and the attention to detail that went into this tent.
The inner body of the tent measures 90" by 50", on both ends, which is super important if you want to use two of the newer 25" wide sleeping pads (game changer in my opinion).
Peak Height: 42 Inches.
Weight: Packaged weight = 4 lbs 2oz (1.87kg)
Minimum trail weight - 3 lbs, 6 oz (1.53kg)
Colors: Burch Bud/Midnight Grey
The tent has two doors, one on each side, along with huge vestibules on both sides. The dagger also comes with an additional add on called the "Landing zone" which is a waterproof floor for one of the vestibules, a super handy place to keep backpacks, and items you don't need directly inside the tent itself.

Can only relate to the backpacking elements of all your outdoor adventuring, but was suprised to see we have almost the the same tents. I have the Dagger 3p for trips with the missus, and the xmid 1p for solo trips. Both great tents and they serve both situations perfectly. Appreciate your review in this video. 👍

Shaun that’s amazing. I’m a huge fan of both tents and in some ways, wish I would have gotten the 1P in the Duraton as well. Thanks for watching, new backpacking content coming up at the end of July!

In rainy conditions, I highly recommend to stake both ends of the tent (underneath the Nemo logo) otherwise condensation might start to build up inside the tent.

They also make the same Dagger Osmo in a 3P tent!! It only weighs 8 ounces more than the 2P. That’s an option with two large dogs

We’re pretty confident that we can make it work with the 2P and both dogs, but the 3P was bigger then I’d want to use on my own.

I'm really interested in this tent. Right up there with quality of MSR and Big Agnes (and price, lol) , but with some other features I like more. A big factor for me is the green rainfly for those times you might want to be a little more inconspicuous in the woods, that's always been a factor with tents I've bought in the past. But the one thing that really gets my goat is that it doesn't come with a footprint. However, a footprint is included with their more lower line model the "Aurora" (which still isn't cheap). What's up with that? So spend more, get less? I've always stuck with more entry level, but still quality tents, and they came with footprints, which surprised me. Just seems like to me if you're willing to ante up in price, an included footprint should be a foregone conclusion. But apparently I'm wrong. I know they make one specifically for the Dagger, just sold separately. But they also have a lifetime warranty, as oppose to a limited one. Maybe I'll put them to the test. Though I'd rather not have to send my tent back to be replaced or fixed. Wouldn't it just be cheaper to include the footprint? But they're probably banking on the fact that people would just buy a new one if it was damaged. That's how they getcha.

Kevin I understand but my bet is that not everyone uses a foot print…myself included. I haven’t used a footprint with my backpacking tents…pretty much ever, and I’ve never had a problem. It really depends on where you are backpacking and the terrain you are partial to setting your tent up in. If they included it standard, a bunch of folks like me would just leave it in a closet somewhere and never use it, and that’s a lot of wasted material and you get the idea. Do the MSR or the Big Agnes come with them standard? I’d be surprised if they do. You can always just make a footprint out of some construction tyvec, that’s probably lighter and stronger anyways, that’s what I use for my hammock ground tarps. Best of luck with whatever you decide and thanks for watching. Make sure you subscribe, bunch of new gear videos coming soon

@@OutdoorsPodcast I can see that point. A buddy I camp with has a Kelty that came without a footprint and he's used it for years and years without a problem as well. But I know he would use the footprint had it came with one. I just think for the price, why not include the footprint? Especially when their "lower" end model comes with one, I guess that's the part that doesn't make sense to me. Oh well. The Aurora was on my radar, and looks to be a solid tent and gets great reviews as well, but the biggest complaint I see is that it has only a single zipper, which I think would also be a sticking point for me. Other than the footprint thing, the Dagger looks to be a great tent! Thanks for doing the review, it was definitely a lot more in depth than others I've seen and cleared up some questions I had.

Pete, this is what is considered a 3 season tent, so it’s not designed for heavy winter, with big snows. That being said, if you live somewhere that gets cold, but doesn’t snow a ton, I’d see no reason the dagger wouldn’t be a great fit! I personally reply on my layers and my sleeping system for all of my warmth. The tent is simply there to keep my dry and away from bugs. Thanks for watching and I hope that helps.

The hubby hubba is a great choice, I liked the hardware on the Nemo better, the 6 inches of additional length on the interior and for the way the rain fly rolls back to really open things up. I also like the color of the Nemo a lot more, and I have a couple friends who have really enjoyed their Nemo tents. I think you’d be really happy with either choice.
