What a fascinating game. I wouldn't have thought a game about this theme would work, but this actually looks very fun.

I think this is one of the very best single player games available (2nd edition). I usually try to take my cues from the goals (e.g. exploration) as to the mindset I take to the unfolding story. I hope your video brings more attention and demand for this game. Thanks for doing this.

Thanks Jim ! I wholeheartedly agree.. a game that I think will merit lots of plays, getting better with each one.

Ricky I just wanted to tell you how much I love your playthroughs. You got me into Mage Knight, and I just got my hands on Nemo's War. I'll be using this playthrough to help me get into this game also! You make it easy, and I can't thank you enough sir

Watching your videos on Nemo's War was how I found out about, and later bought, the game. I've never regretted it since, my brother and I have had many fun voyages around the world in the Nautilus. Many thanks, Ricky Royal!

Finally got around to watching this. Awesome video, Rick. These are my favorite types of playthroughs... games with engaging stories/event cards. And you do it very well. Reminds me of your older cinematic style playthroughs. Well done.

Great game, played it half a dozen times these past three months, I've only not lost the game once (inconsequential) after shifting from an explore motive to an anti-imperialist motive in act III. I would highly recommend to all that you should invest in the three expansion packs. #1 Nautilus Upgrades, #2 Bold and Caring, and #3 Dramatis Personae. Sure it adds a bit more complexity but it is primarily a solo game so what's the rush. Bold and Caring adds two more Nemo motives, all three expansions combined makes for an even more exciting adventure. Happy Holidays and a safe and Happy New Year all.

Ricky Royal it doesn’t appear that you took your starting upgrade card, unless I didn’t see it.

@@SWholley I didn't. Since it is optional, I chose to keep my starting resources instead. I mention it in Part 2... Enjoy ! R.R

This game has been sitting on my shelf for a year and a half... Half a year because there was missing content in the box, Half a year because I forgot about it, and half a year because I opened the rulebook and lost my sanity. Now I might finally learn how to play !

Amazing game, so glad to see you play it. Love Victory Point games. So many great games including an amazing deck builder designed by someone we're all familiar with.

If I remember right, I think the capital ship card is meant to be buried quite deep into the deck.

No, not really; it's just random like the rest. It kinda worked out okay finding it so early.

Hi Ricky (and others). I'm deciding between Nemo's War and Gloom of Kilforth, which game would be a better choice to provide good replayability and longetivity.

Good god Ricky your the reason I am so broke at Christmas - this year I have bought everything chip theory games have to offer and it’s all your fault mate. But thanks as I am loving them all. Hmmm wonder whether Santa might have a copy of this for me on Christmas Day as I have had my eye on this for some time? Keep up the good work!!

@@BoxofDelights Is this game available in retail? I got it through KS. The publisher was Victory Point Games, who, if I remember rightly, were absorded by a company that subsequently shedded the VPG people.
@BoxofDelights5 жыл бұрын
Yes, this one is available at retail. VPG is now part of TableTopTycoon, the same company who owns Starling Games (Everdell, Black Orchestra).

Great play through. I'm a big fan of Jules Verne, is the game evocative of the novel 20000 leagues under the sea, it does seem to be. I just want confirmation before..*sigh* committing.
@jameycribbs5 жыл бұрын
Yes! It is very evocative. The artwork is SO thematic: the beautiful line drawings on the cards that look like illustrations from an old version of the book; the typeface used on a lot of the text on the board; the flavor text on the cards which is taken directly from the book; the card actions make sense in context of the card flavor text; the beautiful ship illustrations on the counters. Just the whole game, to me, evokes the theme of the novel.

primarily just to show people that you don't have to. Most of my videos are meant to be learn to play as we play type things . Also, I figured I didn't really need to with the strategy I wanted to play.

Another high quality, informative and absorbing video. For once, you haven't made me buy the game....I already have it. Not wanting to be greedy for more videos but I see Comancheria on your shelf. Would you ever do a play through? I haven't got it. Not found it available but it has excellent reviews on You Tube. Thanks so much again for your work.
