Saki is a huge Babymetal fan. All the merch in the video is hers. I like how they styled their hair in tribute to Babymetal with Mayu in a ponytail like Sumetal and the band in pigtails like Mia and Yui. Mayu’s screams add a Nemophila twist to this fantastic cover. My favorite Nemophila covers are their Maximum the Hormone covers, Shimi and Zetsubo Billy

Many of Nemophila’s cover songs are like an Easter egg hunt, or maybe Where’s Waldo. They normally honor the original artists, with merchandise, clothing, makeup, hairstyles, even dance and cinematography. I’ve grown to really enjoy the game, searching for all hidden tributes. Of course, the music is what first draws me to the covers. These women are so incredibly talented, there is nothing they can’t perform from any genre. ❤️🌸

I love that they all put their hair in pig tails like Moa and Yui from BabyMetal, or as I learned from watching a good deal of anime that it's called twin tails in Japan except for Mayu who put her hair up like Su the lead singer from BabyMetal makes this even better.

Babymetal was my introduction to this era of jmetal, and I still have a listen to them sometimes, Nemophila are my second favourite band, awesome musicians and Mayu's unique sound, how she changes from the scream to smooth so easily is amazing. If lovebites never came along nemo would be top. But Asami & co are just another level. 🤘🎤🥁🎹🎸🐺

Raise a Suilen did a cool cover of Megitsune too. Unfortunately it seems the video that I found of them doing it live at a show a while back is gone. I can only find audio or reactions of it now. Megitsune is one of the most perfect songs. EVER. 🤘🦊🤘

Try their early X-Japan cover of "Kurenai". Its a great song by the legends of Japanese metal/rock from the 80's. The mighty X-Japan. Nemophila do a typical amazing job and Muratatam (Murata tamu) plays her heart out on the drums for this.

The respect these bands have for each other goes far beyond just doing covers they actually hang out with each other post images on social media with each other some have lent each other their equipment for shows and even attend other bands concerts for example three of the ladies from nemophila attended a concert for LOVEBITES and even though they are competing bands the fact is they all understand that if one band succeeds they are all succeeding. Western bands should take notes from these ladies that you can be competitive with each other and still support each other at the same time

You should check out Babymetal and Rob Halford doing Painkiller/Breaking The Law together. There's also a version where Su sings those songs solo during one of her birthday shows , that one features Chad Smith on drums

For the being drawn to female metal bands. I have theorized about this for quite some time. You have spoken of your history of metal music which is quite similar to mine. Notice how there are ZERO of those in your history? You arent seeking them out, you and me, have just been listening to a male DOMINATED genre for literally decades. These all female metal groups didn't exist in the 80's and 90's(afaik). It feels to me that the genre has needed a balancing out for a long long time. And now here they are 😊. So we as a metal community are scooping them up as fast as we can because we wanted them and didnt even know it. As for as why Japan seems to be leading the charge. Could be a social breaking out of their own historical male dominated culture. Babymetal leading the way since their initial absolute explosion. Anyone feel free to correct any inaccuracies i may have!

There are so many guitarist better than Kanami for eg Saki, Hazuki, Miyako,Midori, Narumi, Tomozo, Sakura, Ayumi, Miki Sungo, LisaX, Hal-ca, Yashiro etc. Kanami is a great guitarist and Im not trying to put her down but yeah I agree she is a confined/limited guitarist whereas these girls I mentioned are versatile can play any genre with ease also they do make some mistakes live but not as often as SO CALLED THE GREATEST GUITARIST OF ALL TIME.😅
