Nemophila - Dissension / First Time Reaction - WHAT IS THIS BAND?!

The guitarist on the right, Saki, recently left the band but they are killing it as a 4 piece with just Hazuki on guitar. Try some of their live MV's as they can do it all just as well live as in the studio, especially Mayu, the vocalist, who can flip from soft and melodic to full on vocal fry in a second. As you said, Japan - and especially the female bands like Nemophila, Band-Maid and Lovebites - are making the best Metal and Rock of the 21st century.

Nemophila = Rock n Roll Killer Queens !.. They can, and have done every kind of style imaginable, and are all next level artists..5 or 4 doesn't matter..they will melt your face and your heart.. I've seen Nemophila live twice and they were fantastic. The Japanese metal/rock scene is the best in the world at the moment IMO. Deep pool of talented bands, led by the all-female groups. Lovebites, Nemophila, Band-Maid, Hanabie + some others are all well worth your time.

Nice review. Nemophila has a shitload of great tracks. They are even better live, so maybe check out the live version of 'Oiran' (specifically the video from about a year ago). Also the live version of 'Revive' recorded at House of Blues, 'Xen' live and 'Change the World' live.

"Don't destroy everything in yourself and in others, by behaving like an a-hole, just to feel better yourself." Kind and smiling ladies address a heavy subject matter. *Amazingly* performed. Nemophila - "baby blue eyes" flower, "Rurikarakusa" in Japanese; grows in N-America and is appreciated in Japan (see "Hitachi Seaside Park"). The band was formed in 2019, originally as a "session" brought together by... Mayu - the vocalist (ex- Lipstick band); Haraguchi-san - (ex- HöLDERLINS band) bass, backing vocals, was Mayu's friend and colleague from Music College; Tamu Murata - drums, backing vocals, one the most respected session musician in Japan (countless bands), with also her own original carrier; she's also the wife of Akira Yamaoka, musician/composer, known especially for his videogames OSTs, in particular for "Silent Hill"; Saki (ex - "Mary's Blood" band for a decade, "Destrose", and others), she's a "young sacred monster" in J-metal) guitar, backing vocals, and... Hazuki (KOIAI "Dark Indigo" / Li-sa-X, Disqualia bands) - guitar, backing vocals; both, Saki and Hazuki have a lot of experience. Unfortunately, Saki left the band in march 2024, after the Budokan concert, thinking that her contribution was enough after more than 4-5 years, pursuing her - successful - solo carrier; she became a member of L'Arc〜en〜Ciel band. The band continues in the 4 members form, with Mayu starting to add guitar bits while Haraguchi-san's bass, and Hazuki's guitar becomes more prominent. Nemophila, with their self-declared "Jigoku no Yurufuwa" (soft and fluffy hell) general metal-rock style, made an amazing fandom impression during the pandemic, thru KZbin clips... ...so far about 50 Western/Japanese awesomely bonkers covers, and about 40 original, freakishly insane good songs (singles, EPs - including the JPURecords' Extended Edition of "Oiran", 3 albums - "Revive", "Seize The Faith", "Evolve"; EP - "Beautiful Days"). This band was created by a producer who gathered famous Japanese musicians for the singer. Perhaps because of this, one of the guitarists has already left the band.

4 Japanese and 1 Korean all female rock bands have toured the US over the last 2 years. They also toured Europe. There many, many of who know and love these bands. It's the mainstream music corporation who are only promoting hip hop and rap. Both of which are a waste of time.
