Some of the stuff gets auto translated and even some of the manually produced stuff relies on translation software. Add to that the fact that many Japanese/English concepts and phrases don't really translate meaningfully word-for-word. IMO, the best way to get the most out of these bands is to kind of get the sentiments and the feel and not worry too much about precise translations where they're not totally coherent. Hazuki, the guitarist who stands on OUR left as we look at the screen, plays Ibanez guitars. The guitarist on our right, Saki, plays Killer guitars. Her signature model has the blossom inlays. They work so well together. I've been playing for about 50 years and I can still only dream of being as good as some of the players coming out of Japan.

Saki does the subtitles and as youd expect she speaks English the best out of all the ladies but not 100% so you'll get these little oddities. If you want to see Saki shred some more in a different environment try her previous band called Marys Blood and their song Marionette. Her guitar solo is killer. If you do LIFE again do the Nemophila official video with subtitles on. Probably one of my favorite lyrical slow songs.

OK, since you are committed, time to learn the backstory and names. Nemophila were founded in 2019. They are a supergroup composed of: ex-Mary's Blood guitarist Saki (you should check out Mary's Blood "Marionette" when you have a chance) ex-Lipstick vocalist Mayu ex-Disqualia guitarist Hazuki (also plays with Lisa-X) ex-Hölderlins bassist Haraguchi-san, and ex-Soramimi drummer Murata Tamu This is one of the bands to watch, no question. They just started in 2019 and are blowing up fast. As you can see from the gang vocals, they don't take themselves too seriously-Hazuki even winks. They almost seem to be enjoying a private joke, that goes "Hi, we're a bunch of cute, fun girls and we are going to rip your face off, and you are going to like it.” Initially, they were just a side project, co-organized by Mayu with some help from Saki, largely to keep busy in the early days of the pandemic. They started by posting metal covers of well-known rock, pop and metal songs. Hara-san is the youngest but is clearly a great talent and has been developing in front of our eyes. She has already written several songs for the group. And of course Mayu is quickly establishing herself as a great metal vocalist. They just toured the U.S. (their second go at performing here): I saw them live and they blew the roof off the place.

Funny you should mention the Pitt. I just saw them 2 weeks in NYC at the last stop on their US Tour. Fortunately there wasn't the sound issues I heard about at previous shows. It was the loudest show I've ever heard and Hard AF! A group of about 30 youngsters kept the Pitt lively all night and I had the fortune to be right on the edge of it getting pummeled. I could have moved but at 50 yrs old Nemophila had me itching to get in there. But alas having left my Life Alert home that night, had I gone down with a hip injury, it would've been disastrous, lol. Anyhow, you could tell by the look on their faces and their reactions the band really seemed shocked and surprised by the intensity of the Pitt and the crowd surfing that took place.Def not what they were accustomed to, but you could tell they dug it. NYC showed well that night and sent the girls home feeling Loved!

I was at that concert at the tables stage right and I second that it was the loudest concert I have ever been to, and one of the most fun. That close to the stage vocals were hard to pick out at times due to the bass which was insane. Peace.

Nemophila has 4 songs that almost similar in structure... the first one is this Dissension, then comes Ray of Light in which in my opinion slightly better than Dissension [unpopular opinion, since most of Nemophila fans think Dissension is better than Ray of Light]. Then comes Seize of Fate in which I personally think slightly not as good as Dissension and finally Rise, their latest single. Rise in my opinion tops all of the other three songs [Dissension, Ray of Light and Seize of Fate] by a large margin. That's just my opinion.

Yeah I share the same opinion rise is my favorite so far rises the one that gave me the chills took me up and down many transitions I cried it was amazing So so far rises my favorite I have not seen a couple other ones though Ray of light and Seize the Fate for instance I got to get on that and I will Thank you Thanks for watching!!

IMO dont bother with lyrics. In music it will be lost in translation. Amazing band though. Mayu is my favorite female metal singer.

Yeah, the subs are theirs. It’s common in Japanese music which include English to be, well, Engrish-y. But on scale of how Engrish they are, they’re not the worse. On that note, you want to have fun with terrible English subs? Go watch 70s to 90s Hong Kong action flicks. They are hilarious!

These early songs and such were translated by Saki as she speaks the best English. Hell she worked her ass off doing video and interview translations for the fans. Anytime you translate songs meanings can seem off because of no direct correlation from language to language. Weird you mentioned how Life did not do it for you. You watched an extremely shitty fan cam. The song is a favorite of essentially the whole fan base, for a reason.
