Their style is metal, metalcore, punk, rap, pop, hard rock, pop-punk, prog and some other stuff that hasn't been invented yet. One of the most diverse of the Japanese bands. This is their first release since their other guitarist left around Easter, but they've been playing plenty of gigs in the meantime. Their covers are legendary. Top recommendations: Foo Fighters - 'Walk' (Foos are Mayu the singer's favourite band); Iron Maiden - 'Aces High'; Journey - 'Separate Ways'; Babymetal - 'Megitsune'; Limp Bizkit - 'Stuck'; System of a Down - 'Sugar' and for total contrast NiziU - 'Make You Happy'. There is nothing this band can't do - and the Singer, Mayu, and the drummer, Tamu, do it while raising their children. The guitarist, Hazuki, also plays in the band KOIAI with the incredible Li-sa-X, and bass player Hara-chan also plays with a couple of other acts. Where the hell they find the time and energy I have no idea.

Nemophila is one of the best in Japan. All the members used to be part of other bands before Nemophila was formed in 2019. I've listened to Babymetal a lot recently but these girls are more my cup of tea. Brutal vocals mixed with clean. Crunching guitar, meaty bass licks and thunderous drums. What's not to love. Whatever you are going to react to from Nemophila next doesn't matter. It's all good stuff. They cover so many different genres of metal and rock, but Nemophila style. Looking forward to the next one. Theyve become one of my favorite bands as of late theyre insanely talented. For another great song you cant go wrong with OSKR, Rise, or Dissension. As far as covers they absolutely killed Master of Puppets!

I love the covers of Nemophila! Shows all the possibilities of Nemophila, anything is possible at any time, no matter what style, whether covers or originals, musically they can do anything anyway. It's just not a garage band, rather the complete opposite

This is their style for the most part but they have a few songs that are different, hard to put a label on them. I love the heavy metal versus then the soaring chorus'. This is the first song I have heard with a song written for the 4 members and damn, it is tied with Ama - Te - Ras for my favorite.

Mayu, the singer of Nemophila, is a fan of the Foo Fighters and Dave Grohl's vocal style. She has a similar screaming technique, with the caveat that she is a woman, so her voice is higher.

Excellent band, and loved the reaction - if you're going to do their cover of Sugar by SOAD, then you need to look at their Free Live KZbin mini-concert at: kzbin.info/www/bejne/hIayd6WfhbmKgqM. It's far superior (in my opinion) to the single they have on their channel, mostly because, for whatever reason, they beep out the swear words. And we all know that Serj has some salty language in SOAD songs. Since the Free Live has 5 songs on it, you'll probably want to just hone in on System of a Down between 8:54 and 11:36. The other songs they do (and all are done very well), in case you're interested are: Revive (0:00 to 3:14), Rise (3:15 to 6:44 - Mayu does yell the band name at the end, so you can hear how the band pronounces their name), Dissension (13:18 to 17:25), and Oiran (17:26 to 22:22). All are exceedingly good representations of their live capability - the sound is very stripped down with minimal backing tracks, and really shows how dynamic and musically gifted they are as a band, all while truly enjoying themselves. I would encourage you to give it a listen.

My two cents on the pronunciation: what you heard on Google is the pronunciation of the nemophila flower. The band pronounces their name Neh-moe-fee-la. There are videos on their YT channel where they introduce themselves that way. The "American" pronunciation is Nee-moe-fee-la. I have the same "problem" with Lovebites and Nemophila. Nemophila is my favorite by a hair. I wish all my problems were of this nature.

The scientific name for the blue and white flower so it’s Neh- mofeela. No finding Nemo either🎣😂 Mayu even said Neemofila during a concert then laughed and said to Saki Neemofila Americano. Then said Neh-mophila. If you do covers they are all good for me except the Pantera, Bon Jovi and Pink efforts. Their 2024 Loudness cover is great. Old school Japanese metal.

Amazing track. Tamu's drums and Hazuki's amazing riff and of course mayu. One of their best tracks. As for covers, they have a lot of great ones. From what you mentioned, it's definitely SOAD.
