5 world class musicians + a love of playing heavy music + a wicked tight bond of friendship = NEMOPHILA They were all members of other bands before this. The singer was putting on a tiny show for herself, just singing cover songs in the summer of 2019 and wound up getting everyone else on board for it as session players. They really hit it off and decided to form a band. They'd just posted 2 studio session tracks on KZbin when the pandemic started. Around the same time, the drummer left to have a baby...so they spent the first few months of the pandemic just making fun cover versions of songs they loved with guest drummers and posting them on YT. When the drummer came back they had a livestream concert where at the end they all turned to tell her how much they'd missed her, and how happy they were for her and her new baby and they dedicated a song to her and it's one of the most touching things I've ever seen on the internet. In Jan 2022 they had their very first concert as a full band in front of a real audience. Over the pandemic they gathered a pretty good folllowing, so basically their very first solo concert ever was a huge packed room and they were all pretty emotional about it. Check out their songs Dissension, Ratei, and Fighter. And look through their videos for any covers that you think you'd enjoy, they're all a hoot. And then, once you know them a bit, watch 'Life' which is the song they dedicate to their drummer and her baby. It hits way harder when you know them a bit.

This band has everything needed to absolutely blow up globally: first rate musicianship at every position, phenomenal versatility, great songwriting, and over-the-top chemistry and charisma. I'm beyond stoked to be seeing them live in a couple weeks at Whiskey a Go Go in LA.

Nemophila is a band formed in 2019, but actually each of their members is from a different band, And they are diverse, they not limited to one style of music, you can hear different things in every song of them. Two guitarists: Saki（from Mary’s Blood, amahiru) and hazuki（from lisa-X band) are amazing female guitarists in Japan, drummer murata tamu has collaborated with many singers and bands，and she also a solo drummer , the singer mayu（ex-Lipstick) she has many different singing styles and voices. haraguchi-san（ex-Hölderlins) is the happiest bassist I have ever seen😜. Nemophila are pure 🔥🔥🔥. Mayu is an incredibly versatile vocalist. Some of their songs have more screaming while others have none. Regardless, all their songs are fantastic. Try Raitei for a banger without any screaming. For heavier with more screaming try Dissension.

Naon no Yaon is a music festival for women musicians organized by Show-ya , an all women metal band formed in 1981. The MC in this video is their lead vocalist Keiko Terada. This 2021 performance was done without an audience (COVID). Li-sa-X has appeared there, as has Saki of Nemophila in her other band Mary's Blood. And Band-Maid appeared in 2016. Lovebites hasn't appeared but two members have, Haruna and Miho.when they were part of the band Destrose.

I see you have been doing BABYMETAL. Su and Mayu (Nemphila Vo) are my two favorite vocalists, so different but both so unique and powerful. Also, they are the same age, Mayu just a month older than Su 🤘🌸🤘

This band is the real fucking deal. I have seen you do Babymetal, who I also love. Note the guitarist with the reddish shorter hair aka Saki is a massive Babymetal fan and wears there shirts in multiple videos. They also did a fun cover of Megitsune. All their original songs are kickass and their covers are so much fun.

You have now heard my top three of the Japanese bands - Band-Maid, Lovebites and Nemophila. There are a lot more really good Japanese bands, including plenty of other all-female bands. As others have said, Nemophila doesn't rely on one genre of music, although they are primarily a metal band. If you want to experience their much softer side, I highly recommend the song Life. The video was made shortly after the drummer, Tamu Murata, returned from having a baby. In addition, the band was celebrating the birthday of Hazuki, one of the guitarists. A very emotional song. My introduction to Nemophila was watching the video of Iron Maiden's Aces High. If you are an Iron Maiden fan like me, you definitely need to hear Mayu sing the hell out of that song. I'm not really a fan of screaming vocals either, but Mayu is special. Her mix with her so fine regular voice just fits. And it simply also fits with what the other ladies add instrumentally. If you are not a fan of screaming vocals, try Raitei, Monsters, Fighter, Sorai or Life as next choice. A lot of people will recommend Dissension or Revive, but those have a fair bit of screaming. None of their songs are all screaming but the screams are a bit more intense than in this song. Think banshee levels with Dissension.
