Love the Nemo reviews ❤. Good to see Upscale is sending you gear, it’s great when people work together to grow this hobby.

Who wouldn't listen to your entire review? There's no fat. So many other reviewers constantly repeat themselves. You say what needs to be said and get off the camera. Terrific review too. Just would be hard to audition for me and probably for most people I imagine. I don't know how available this speaker is. Your stray comment about the violin did catch my attention though! Being a violin music lover.

I saw these at Axpona, and they are beautiful looking but didn't have a chance to hear them. Thanks for doing a review on them. I haven't seen may reviews on any of the Fyne Audio. I've considered purchasing a pair of Fyne Audio F301 speakers.

I've been looking at this speaker brand to pair with my Luxman class A integrated amp. Love the vintage looks and craftsmanship of it. Great review Nemo 👍🏻

@@markc8773 which amp? I recently acquired a L590 AXII and love that amp. I have it paired with some Tannoys and love the synergy. I bet it would sound awesome.
@NemoPropaganda2 ай бұрын
Hi Mark, glad you enjoyed the video! The craftsmanship really is top tier, what's cool too is birch is fairly lightweight so these aren't too heavy despite their robust build! It's like picking up something made of carbon fiber that's fairly large, you know it should be light but your brain tells you the big object should be heavy so theres a bit of a "wow" reaction that happens. Definately audition it if you can.

Absolutely man! Those guys at Upscale audio are pretty awesome. I bought all my cables and few components from them. Sean was great to work with from Upscale. I also heard the bigger Vintage 15 sibling with the new Supertrax tweeter at the Show in Costa Mesa last year. Amazing holographic sound with a wide sweet spot. I'm truly impressed with these speakers. I love the fact that they're faily easy to drive due to their sensitivity rating. A perfect opportunity to match with a class A amp.@@NemoPropaganda

Ahh man you got one hell of a set up there brother with the Luxman 590 AXII and the Tannoys. That Luxman has more than enough balls to drive the Tannoys. That'll be a sweet amazing sound synergy wise. I happen to have the Luxman 595ASE. Very similar to your 590AXII spec wise but with some upgraded components inside the amp such as different capacitors.The Fyne and Tannoys are very similar in sound especiallywhen the lead designer from Fyne audio started off with Tannoy many years ago.@@mrmessyjesse

@@markc8773 I want to check out the Fyne audios they look beautiful, I have been crushing on the larger ones when I get the wife approval… it may happen… unless we dig something else before it time to buy. I love the Tannoys but I really want something that doesn’t need a sub and goes to at least 20 hz. I wanted the 595ASE but the WAF wasn’t as high as the 590 because of the lack of VU meters, and as long as my wife digs it I get new toys. I did want to shout out the Shinjitsu speakers. Our bedroom system is the Luxman LX-380 and since he builds the speakers to order the dude did his carbon black speakers with a front baffle that matched the wood on the Luxman and it is a thing of beauty… and they horns on there are really good too. They also have more bass than I expected for our listening position.

no I did not try it, since my Hegel H190 is not the current version I will not use it too much for reviews and its home is now in my casual system where I watch TV & play video games with the Hegel H190, Supermon Mini, and KC62 :). I may still use it sometimes but I will mention it if I do.

I have to say, I am really digging your reviews. I like when you start to venture into the higher end speakers because that is very relatable to where I am in my journey too. I know they are different animals, price wise, but I wish you could connect with the Shinjitsu Little Hiro maker. Cool guy and his speakers would fit close to the description of how you describe those beautiful vintage fives. Keep on keeping on! Do you have some test tracks you like to use when you compare speakers?
@NemoPropaganda2 ай бұрын
hey jesse, thanks for the kind words, I listen to a ton of music and while I do have certain tracks I use for certain situations my main goal is to listen as much as possible. I generally listen to the speakers for a minimum of 10 hours (after break-in) before filming my reviews so I listen to a ton of songs :)
@GentielioGaming2 ай бұрын
Why won't they give compresion songs that play louder for radio channels and give the dynamic ones for consumers?? Or at least physic albums. It is the most single thing i hate of being an audiophile.

We're too small of a community :(
@vincentpedalino6182 ай бұрын
I feel Ear buds and Bluetooth speakers are the benchmark today for most who listen to music, and recording engineers cater to that. The problem for ( us) audiophiles is that the more revealing a system is, the worse these compressed recordings sound.
@KeithHeinrich2 ай бұрын
Speakers that punish poor recordings. I have speakers that do that, renders poor recordings unlistenable. On the other hand well crafted recordings are amazing.

I know these are around $1k more expensive, but what would you choose between these and the Carbon 7's?
@NemoPropaganda2 ай бұрын
brother these are $2.2k more expensive :p very different sound, sure they both focus on the midrange but that's where the similarities stop. The Fritz is much larger and much more tonally balanced and fuller sounding, it's only a little midrange centric. The Vintage Five is more niche by direct comparison, it has a sound all its own. It's a little hard to describe the vintage five because a lot of the descriptors sound similar but I can't stress how much it has a sound all its own and for the people that enjoy that it'll be a perfect fit.

Why do these look so much like Tannoy speakers?
@NemoPropaganda2 ай бұрын
the story goes something like: pro audio company bought Tannoy, new owners not keeping up with the core values of Tannoy, handful of Tannoy core staff left to start their own company to continue the heritage and tradition they believed in, something like that. No idea how much truth there is to that but that's the story I've heard.

How does the midrange of the Fyne compare to the ATC which you have reviewed before?
@NemoPropaganda2 ай бұрын
very different price and tonal character. The Vintage Five is trying to show you the midrange, it's very unique in that regard. The SCM11 is all about absolute and perfect neutrality without any focus on any one particular aspect of the sound.
@felipencl2 ай бұрын
@@NemoPropagandaI was wondering the same thing, since the ATCs are said to also have something special in it’s midrange, despite being neutral.
@billd96672 ай бұрын
ATC’s heart is in studio monitors, so yes, more accurate overall. Just the same, the dome midrange is magical and has that even dispersion. My next pair will hopefully be the SCM40s
