At first I thought she was eating actual peppers but it’s just green bell peppers lol. For tasting earth I think you can tell by the smell how those things will taste so I’ve only done it on accident probably.
@hayatotenryuu98503 жыл бұрын
It's actually genetic that some people have a stronger sense of bitter than others. I'm assuming that (1) Nene has this and (2) She probably doesn't eat super healthy. I'm not saying she eats poorly, but stuff like soft drinks actually change your sense of taste, so unless you're in the habit of eating healthy, most veggies will taste bad. Before I get any hate from the husband collection, I've been on both sides of this fact, so I can say it's real. I had to change my diet for health reasons, and it took a few months for my tastes to change. Bell peppers are like crunchy and wet, they're not particularly good or bad. Sometimes I fry them, and squash and onions, and there's definitely a smell associated with that, but I cook them in olive oil, and it's pretty good. I'm guessing that's why the mayo helped, because it's made up of oils. So Nene complaining is more about her tastes and habits than anything else.

Same reason kids don't usually like endives, Belgian envides particularly. Taste and digestive capacities are sometimes weird. I know the skin on a bell pepper is not digestible and can make people sick, I've never experienced it, for a long time I could even eat oysters fine but now I can't digest them, they always make me sick, even fresh and I have no idea why, maybe because once I ate a bad one and since then my body rejects them. I like salmiak, other people find it atrocious; a friend of mine would heave if he ate veal for some reason I never could understand, I always thought it was psychological. Watame also hated bell peppers until Choco cooked her some in a different way.

The worldwide linguistics of the word "pepper" is like a maze to me. You have pepper the seasoning, pepper the vegetable and chilli pepper the hot vegetable. In Japanese they say "piiman" for the regular vegetable which sounds exactly like the french "piment" that only applies to the HOT vegetable. For the seasoning instead we have "poivre" and the vegetable is "poivron", which you'd think would translate as "pepperoni" but that's YET ANOTHER thing, that's MEAT. What even is pepper at this point.
@luqmanloki48033 жыл бұрын
You forgot pepper the name and the people who says paper the same way as pepper. Now that increases the amount of confusion XD
@littlechemie54253 жыл бұрын
Want to be even more confused? Japanese word ピーマン(piiman) only refers to one type of small green pepper, for other, "regular" bell pepper they call it "paprika" パプリカ、which in english (commonly) refers to ground spice made from certain type of red pepper!
@Palewolf0Inubashiri3 жыл бұрын
@@littlechemie5425 Paprika is what bell peppers are called in Swedish too. 😅
@thorn_lekoh3 жыл бұрын
@@littlechemie5425 that's crazy. It's a bit like the word "apple", that used to describe every fruit (pomos -> "pomme") before it took over "malum" (that became "manzana" in spanish) as a word for apples only. Now in french we say "pomme" for apple, "pomme de terre" for potato (earth apple), but surprise : "pomme de pin" does not mean pineapple but pine cone, which is even more confusing considering that "pineapple" used to mean pine cone, but somehow when english people discovered what is universally called "ananas" they thought it looked like a pine cone and decided it was reason enough to call it a pineapple as well, even though it has zero connection to pine trees whatsoever.

Assuming everyone's done it ... no, Nene, I wouldn't go that far. 3) I think eating grapes was probably making subsequent peppers worse? Like it was adjusting her taste buds away from accepting the peppers or something. 4) A Japanese person who doesn't like mayonnaise?
