Demonstration of Neo Instruments Ventilator II on a Hammond L-112. Some styles are demonstrated, and a few settings of the Ventilator II.
The audio was recorded using a MiniDisc-recorder connected via a headphone amplifier to the Ventilator II and afterwards synchronized with the picture.

Nice sound! Did you also use other effects or is it just the Neo Ventilator?

It's just the Ventilator, the other things you see are just a headphone amplifier and MiniDisc recorder, used for recording the sound

@@HammondDirk Vielen Dank für dein know how!

How are you getting a line-level signal out of the L-112?
@HammondDirk
@HammondDirk 7 жыл бұрын
Quite easy: just using a divider from the loudspeaker signal. I used relays for switching off the internal loudspeakers (connecting an 8 ohm power resistor instead, otherwise you might end up blowing up the speaker transformer!) and Leslie speed, so I can connect an 11-pin Leslie and the Ventilator simultaneously.

@HammondDirk Great! I own a t500 and I want to get a line out signal like yours, but don't know how to do it. Do you have it documented??. Thx

Dag Dirk, leuke video.

Gewoon even proberen zou ik zeggen.

very nice hammond sound for an L 100 series, nice tone, good percussion sound and deep bass tone, i wonder if this hammond has been modified like foldback for instance?
@HammondDirk
@HammondDirk 6 жыл бұрын
This Hammond (originally 110V/60Hz, early model with Brilliance tab) has three modifications: - Transformer and belt-driven tone generator to make it work on 230V/50Hz (as such I bought it around 1997) - I replaced the potentiometer in the swell pedal with a light/LDR and shutter, which I made myself with some components scavenged from an electronic organ. The particular LDR reacts quite fast, which gives the organ a kind of "bite" that you otherwise only find in the capacitive swell pedals from the A-100/B-3/C-3 etc. - I built a kit for an 11-pin Leslie connector and the line output as mentioned in my answer below So, no foldback (you should hear in the sample when listening carefully) or other more complicated modifications.

Hello sir!!! A few questions I have for you... (been searching for years about this) I'm about to purchase a Hammond L-102 for my church, I'm looking to connect a Neo Instruments Ventilator II to it aswell. I'm really new to the organ feild (piano player) so how would I go about connecting this device to my L-102 as shown in the video? Thanks!

Also, could I connect a chorale tremolo type switch to this device to change the speed?
@HammondDirk
@HammondDirk 6 жыл бұрын
Hi Andrew, The connection is actually quite simple: use a potentiometer coming from the speaker leads, and connect those to a standard jack and adjust the potentiometer so that the level is accurate (no saturation distortion on the Ventilator). As said before (reaction to Michael Ayotte), if you want to shut down the internal speaker, connect an 8 ohm power resistor over the amplifier's output, otherwise you might blow up the speaker transformer. For switching the speeds: the Ventilator has a stereo (3-pin) jack input which you can configure: either use momentary switches or a throw switch like the original half-moon I use, the Ventilator lets you configure that. Just write me your email in a personal message, then I could send you the schematics. Cheers from Switzerland!
