One of the best B3 players I've heard on here...you are up to par with the big boys...Lonnie Smith, Joey De, Barbara D. and Rhoda. Very enjoyable...I am buying my Neo unit today

These days I am using the Ventilator with the Hammond SK1. I am running it in stereo into a pair of Yamaha DXR10 speakers. It sounds fantastic.

These folks really picked the right organist to demo the Ventilator. Having had the experience of totina a B3 Leslie up and down fraternity house steps way back in the day this thing is pretty cool. Jim playing it is a bonus too.

Great demo and great playing Jim. I use a Ventilator in my studio with a Hammond XK33c and live with my band with a Korg BX3. The Ventilator is AMAZING. Played quitely in the studio or at high volume at a live gig, the Ventilator sounds like a miked up Leslie. I have previously gigged with a real Leslie 145 and the Ventilator is the only simulator I have used that really captures that magical sound. My 5 YT videos all feature the Ventilator, recorded in the studio and in a live environment.

this little machine really ROCKs!!!! thanks Jim for the video, as soon as my new home moving will be completed, I'll post some videos with my Ventilator too. hugs from Italy

OMG that's the sound I used to hear when my dad played the B3 way back in the day, I remember we used to put our heads up by the leslie speakers and I remember this whirling sound like something was spinning inside it. Also besides my dad Billy Boehmer playing the organ so did his parents Charlie Boehmer and Velda Boehmer. Awesome Jim, I always love hearing you play, it brings back great memories of my dad and grandparents for me!

Next week I'm going nonstop to purchase this . I'm totally convinced. This is even better than the original rotosphere that really was the first pedal that made any cheap organ sound fantastic . Thanks Jim and keep it coming with these demonstrations. Oh can u do one on the new Hammond leslie pedal. Some one told me it is just as dynamic but with a twist..

I have the neo-ventilator and used it for a while, it's a cool unit. But then I got a real Leslie 760, which I use with a Korg CX-3 board, so I don't use the vent anymore, but I still think it sounds good. Love your playing man, you always sound great!

Wow, great playing! Given a choice between the Neo & the XK's built-in simulator, which would you choose? And although I appreciate your photog's obigatory close-up of your face while playing, it's almost unncecessary in these youtube demos....

This has become a classic video. I'm not sure if you'll see this comment, Mister Alfredsson, but in the event that you do, what is the likelihood of ordering one of these custom-made cables for the ventilator to use, would say, a vicount legend?
@robmillis14 жыл бұрын
The Ventilator is awesome; I bought one a couple of months ago and boy have I been scathing of simulators in the past; don't even like Motion Sound sound stuff! But the proof of the pudding is in the eating and for some reason the Ventilator has succeeded where everything else has failed. An absolute no-risk purchase. Very simply: it DOES sound JUST LIKE a Leslie. Well done to Guido and the guys at Neo!!! Now, if they could manage a scanner chorus/vibrato......
@lamob13 жыл бұрын
Jim no Doubt you got chops, just wondering if you have checked out the Studio Logic NUMA Organ, Joey D, helped to put it together, just wondering what you think about it? if you've had the chance to play one yet? I own one myself just wondering how the Ventilator would come into play with it, I don't think you would need one with the Numa? just my opinion..what's yours?

Im thinking about hooking this up to my Hammond XH-272 Elegante Organ. I wander if It would make a difference in how the organ sound and would it sound more like B-3 with the ventilator hook up to it. Im also wandering if you to hook this unit up to an original Hammond B-3, Diversi DV DUo, Conn 650, Gulbransen President, Kimball Xanadu, Lowrey organs, would it make the organ sound better or simular to a B-3 sound.

What specs are the custom cable that allows you to control the vent with your Leslie? 11-pin to 1/4”? I have a Hammond A-143, so I’m trying to see if the custom cable I’d need is a 6-pin to 1/4”

I have been using the new SH Digital Leslie on my Hammond XE 200 and I am very pleased with it. You can get some good deals on them and so they work out a lot cheaper than the big vent and are more flexible than the mini. I heard you have been using the Nord 27 note pedal unit. How have you found it with your Hammond? Was there any reason you went for that over the new Hammond long stick other than the number of pedals. The Nords are difficult to come by here in the UK.

Can some type of surround sound technology be applied to these Leslie sims to capture more of the physical sound? It would be great to also have a kind of dual channel unit that could give you a two Leslie effect. I've used dual Leslies in the past set to different speeds that gave really nice full sound.

Really groovy! I'd like to know if you use your foot for tapping in this video ? And in general..
@JimAlfredson10 жыл бұрын
For walking bass lines, I do tap, usually shadowing on my left foot what my left hand is doing. I don't usually just tap one note (say the Bb) unless it's really up tempo. For funk tunes, I tend to treat the pedals like the lowest string on a bass guitar and integrate the two (left foot / left hand).

@emortland My wife was behind the camera and for some reason she thinks I'm cute, so blame her for the face close-ups! :) Compared to the Leslie sim in the XK3, the Ventilator wins, hands-down. It's not even close. I do not own an XK3c so I cannot compare the Ventilator to it.

+Washington v Do a search for "11-Pin Adapter Cable for XK-3(c)" and you'll find a PDF on the Neo Instruments site that details how to make one. If you're not good with a soldering iron or new to making cables, find a guitar amp or electronics person to help.
