I’m a professional Rhodes Technician and I own a 1973 Fender Rhodes that was Dyno’d back in the day. I clicked on this video not expecting much but they ACTUALLY got it. This is not a digital Motif rhodes sound. The fact that they actually have all the the imperfections and mechanical noise that is natural to a real Fender Rhodes makes this seriously impressive and convincing to my ears.
@GospelMusicians Жыл бұрын
Wow thanks so much....We actually just updated some new patches that represent the Retro feel. The patches we demonstrated here are "newer" urban feel, but the original has much less lows and a lot of mid/high thwack. We just updated the presets to represent this. We will be coming out with a video to demonstrate this. Thanks so much for taking the time to check us out!

I absolutely love the Soul Keys Studio product for iOS. I spent an entire day (or two) making presets and mapping Midi knobs out on my Arturia Keystep 37 and it's just incredible to be able to dial in exactly the sounds I wanted to get, and having the FX and the features I wanted in an affordable iOS app, can't thank you enough for developing it - I know some the challenges of development and that it is not easy to create something like this, and you've built a beautiful thing that will inspire many players out there. Huge salute, and many thanks!

@piktormusic253811 ай бұрын
While I appreciate the aesthetic of including all of the Rhodes’ imperfections, I think that the Rhodes sounds better when overdriven and made more low fi. Those hi fi pings sounds like the aura equivalent to polyester leisure suits to me. My 1976 Stage Rhodes sounds better when I run it through a crappy 1970s bass amp than it does through a modern system. Like a guitar, the Rhodes want to be run on the verge of breakup. That pinging tine sound has a place, but if you don’t use it sparingly, you end up sounding as dated as Dave Grusin, 1980’s DX7s MKS20s and terrible gospel music. The chorus effect on e.p.s and guitars should be put into a time capsule and not opened for the next hundred years. Sucks!

I have a cheap Casio keyboard, just a few weeks ago moved it off to a shelf behind me and replaced it with a 49 key midi keyboard. I was put off it because of the internal default piano. This makes me wonder what it would sound like with some decent voices. Even the Roland that default voice sometimes it’s not so good, but it has 88 weighted keys. These voices would be great and a good variety. Being new to iPad and midi this is a revelation. Both those keyboards have a midi port. Those are very appealing sounds.

Hi Great Demo, Jamal! I have a few questions: 1) Does this software provide the Rhodes sound AND the DYNO controls? (or do you need to already have a "rhodes" sound, which you can add DYNO to?) 2) Does this software allow you to "light up" the notes that you are playing on the screen as you play (like they lit up in RED in the first 17 minutes of this video?) 3) What does " Requires NSK Studio 2" mean? 4) What is the difference of the two products? (one is $249, and the other is $99) Please let me know so I can order!

Hi! I just bought the Neo-Soul Keys Studio 2 app and some of the expansions for iOS, and noticed that I don’t hear the mechanical noise of my sustain pedal. This was a present in the NeoSoul Keys app, there was even dials to increase the sustain pedal sounds. Where am I missing this? My sustain pedal is functioning, so that’s good, but not hearing the mechanical sound is really distracting now that I’ve come to expect it. Roland FP-90x with iPad and Neo-SoulKeys Studio 2. I assume this is an obvious setting somewhere that I’m missing?
@GospelMusicians Жыл бұрын
We removed it from the presets, because 99% of the users through it was a bug and that something was wrong with our presets for having it. Most loved the idea, but most wanted it removed. If you hit the Control and go to the Sound Settings you will see the Pedal Noises.You can then go to the Control section and choose Pedal up and Pedal Down. So it's pretty easy to add them yourself.
@MohammedhAliKahn Жыл бұрын
@@GospelMusicians Thank you Jamal! I actually dug into the setting some more after posting this comment and found it myself! I love the customization of this engine :) I’ve wanted to play a Rhodes since I started learning piano a few years ago, and this is just such an accessible way to experience that. All the mechanical sounds make it so immersive. It’s inspiring my practice of Vince Guaraldi Christmas tunes right now lol :)
