I feel a big difference between trad and neo trad is neo doesn’t follow the rule of 3rds and is more packed wall to wall with colour. Love both styles

My tattooer said her style was traditional realism which she even admitted isn't a thing. But I don't think she's quite in neo traditional because she doesn't vary the line weight.

The Chi Rho symbol is a good Christian symbol. It is formed by X and P which are the first two letters of the Greek word for Christ. It is often seen in use by Catholics.

Hey! I am the guy with the tattoo! If you go to the ADL hate image database and search “Chi Rho Cross” a group from the southern states will largely be talked about. I rather not give them any more validation than that. There’s also some smaller connections with some “new Christian armies” in Europe as well. As a bald white guy with blue eyes, It’s not a good look and I’m not trying to get punched in the face or canceled cause I went to the beach with my family lol

I don’t understand the definition… neo traditional seems to literally translate to. New Tradition- in my eyes that would be the exact same drawing art style as American traditional but with more color and maybe cleaning up of certain designs since a lot of am trad tats do have less quality art in terms of skill level. This trending of new terms seems to confuse what’s actually happening. A lot of this art has its own terms in the art world. Most of them are just types of story book illustrations. I wish the true are terms were used like with your example when describing the American traditional tiger, you know it’s not trad because of the color and details although it has American trad design. When you discuss the wolf which I’ve seen a lot as called am trad…that’s a staple style of animation and has a name. Even if we just called art styles by the name of who made them most popular or invented it. That would be more helpful than just generalizing all art that isn’t am trad as neo trad. Traditional has left the chat for many of the tats literally all of the ones that arent traditional

Much respect to you but I myself have mixed feelings about the sub styles people put in tattooing. Tattooing is an style of art in its self scientifically speaking skin saturation!! Then people want to complicate it even more by creating sub styles just seems to much to myself. I belive in shading out my head and not putting an style on my work as it's my work no one else's so who are people to say my work is traditional or otherwise. They should be saying that's so and so's work and use their name like we know when we see an James Whitney piece vs others or an florin piece!! Hope I got James last name right lol not so good at spelling names.
