As someone who's basically just jumped on the BN bandwagon with the legacy collection, watching PvP always has me wondering one thing particular: How do players handle their dimming chips? Like with the chance to counter and whatnot. Is it just a game of chicken on who goes first? And how do they tell when to sacrifice their countered chip with a counter-counter, so on and so forth?

​@@Bananazu2411to me personally, I go with the "Unga bunga" mindset to press the opponent and force 'em to throw hands unprepared, does it work? In some people, yes, in others no, even if they play meta folders (if that's a thing now, I hope not) they will panic and screw the game plan

I almost put in Sanctuary instead of Muramasa, because M code by itself can make the folder pretty alphabet soupy. Sanctuary also is Z code, with the Z GrabPunish, so it can at least lessen the soup. I am still debating between Sanctuary and Muramasa though, they are both solid, but not wanting to give the opponent holy panels is one of the reasons to not use it.

@@scoutmasterdemi In a similar vein, but probably after the rental rumble, it would be cool to see the folder archetypes commonly associated with each gigachip, as well as what NaviCust builds lend themselves to what strategies. I'm vaguely aware that Falzar's Bug Death Thunder and Hub Batch have been used in tango as a more long game strategy, wearing the opponent down, having a lot of health (don't need a strong buster with either of these, more room for hp), and then overwhelming once the chips are all gone, but I don't know what differences, if any, there are between the original releases and legacy collection for competitive play and how that meta may have shifted. Also always interesting to cover those chip codes, what's more or less viable, what has program advances, etc. Knowing what's worth looking at and what isn't is always so helpful for building a folder.

I think that folder depends on the pilot. Nonstop was great at piloting this folder because they had awesome execution a vast knowledge and great movement! To me those are the basis to running something this technically powerful.... lmao glass cannon 101 huh?

Hey there Ashar! You're absolutely right, I've been streaming for over a year now but this is the first time I've seen anything like this o__o I feel like that's a great topic for a video because it's hard to describe each of them concisely in a comment. The short answer is I think all of them have some viability (with proper bans) except BN2 which would require a massive overhaul lol!

One thing I noticed during the tournaments that I didn’t understand was people selecting battle chips and not using them?

That's a great question Matthew. We try our best to predict what will happen but sometimes the opponent puts us in a tough spot and we aren't able to do what we thought we could. If you use a chip that doesn't actually help your position, you might end up leaving yourself vulnerable to the opponent!

There are usually two reasons I don't use chips. One, if it's a key chip, that people are afraid of, and it's going to waste, imo it is better to not reveal the chip is gone by wasting it. In a format with open setups, as in, they can see your entire build, the second a key chip is wasted, the opponent can then go, "oh, it's safe to pull out this chip because the counter to it is gone." Other reason is, there are times where sticking to your chips can get you deleted. If you're too fixated on landing an attack, and don't put your defenses up, you could end up taking lots of damage.

I feel like the folder actually needs more offense. He ran through his entire deck sometimes in the tournament (at least the small part I saw) which is a bad sign for a deck with an offensive gameplan.

This is a solid point: in a lot of ways it's a "combo deck" in terms of the setup you need. The tricky part is utilizing your chips and crosses in conjunction to force your opponent into corners, therefore helping your big Swords connect!

I kind of disagree. Most builds top placing builds are using way more defensive chips like sanctuary, 2 recovery 300s, 2 slow or fastgauges, bugfix, gregars have a second windrack. But this build leaves most of that stuff out. I can basically start fighting with the build right away, and depending on the build, there is almost not setup required. The main reason I would end up with not having enough damage on board was mainly because I was not landing all my chips. Against a build with 2200 HP, 2 recovery 300s, and a Sanctuary, it all becomes a matter of landing the important damaging pieces in the end.

If the Navi Cust "Back+B Defensive" programs, "Sheild" and "Reflector" are useful, please do a video on those too. I remember those programs felt really strong in single player and the block in Megaman Star Force netplay was really good. I'm pretty sure they're a decent, if slept on, option.

I love private messages also but I really want to like engage in active PvP with Fair matches because I am very new to things and I definitely would get overrun by anyone that's been playing PVP on netplay for many years that's my biggest issue/ hurdle and reason to want to get the switch version

im kinda new to megaman scene how are ppl getting more areagrabs* and antidamages* the chip traders?

Anti damage * can be farmed in game. It’s an in battle green mystery data in the Underground. Area Grab * is a one of. My understanding is that in the English GBA game you could get them through the AsterLand chip trader. However Ive read that you cannot get it this way in the Japanese games (which these are based on). I can’t confirm that. However, I do know that one thing people have been doing to get more on the Switch version is get the first one, trade it to another game. Then redownload your Cloud Save Data from before you traded it away. This is an easy (although time consuming) way to get duplicates. This I’ve been able to do myself.

Hey Wesny, it's always great to see new NetBattlers! Volume 2 has BN6 (4 and 5 are cool too) so I'd say yes. You don't have to beat all the games, but beating BN6 will help you get the chips, HP Memories, and programs you need : )

Well, duping exploit or something like that. Make a backup of your save and turn off automatic cloud save. Then gave an Area Grab * to somebody without getting anything in return. Overwrite current save with the backup, then do as many times as you need until the other party has decent quantity for themselves like 5 or 10. The other side also do the same but since they receive first, they have to turn on auto cloud save before doing the reverse. If you are solo, you need another device, account and game copy for the same purpose. Or you can ask someone in a discord server playing this game.

Barrier 200 lasts until 200 damage total but Life Aura is stronger because it needs 200+ in one attack to get rid of it. Life Aura shuts down strong multi-hitting attacks!

A lot of the folders and strats I see on this channel are pretty mid. B tier at best. I get that you have to get creative when it comes to doing damage with falzar, but these strats are too risky to build a proper folder around. Falzar players should be leaning more on their crosses for *support* instead of loading their folders down with it.
