Interesting that the designers went with full spacebar cuts for the stiffer plates. I have seen some designers go with relief cuts for the spacebar. The idea is to make the spacebar less "thuddy"... it's hard to tell from the sound test if it makes a difference.

I loved the Neo65 design but was holding out on picking one up because I figured that they would update the 65 with the latest internal tech. Then with their latest update they opt for screws??? Not to mention the hideous copper/brass bottom pieces that you can't opt out of. Super disappointed tbh.

Screws allow for top mounting which i think is a fair trade off and some ball latches tend to have issues. I'd rather have screws for longevity. Also the copper/brass bottoms may have ugly colors but they contribute to a really nice sound

@hello-hx5jd Yeah I know and to each their own for sure. I don’t have a problem with those being options, but they didn’t even include any other popular options out there. So it just seems like a lackluster drop compared to other boards these days with endless customization so everyone can configure what they’re looking for.

You must be new to custom keyboards. It’s pretty standard for a keyboard to come as a kit like this. If you buy anything custom over ~ $100, you will get no switches or keycaps (with some exceptions). The price you pay gets you quality materials and incredible material finishes, as well as a refined design that they spent a lot of time on to make sure it sounds and feels good. It’s fine if you prefer prebuilts, there’s some good stuff out there, but getting a kit and putting your favourite switches and keycaps on a board is what it’s all about :)

See, look at those 500$ ROG gaming keyboard, those prebuilt gaming keyb is all plastic, plain blacks and full of rgb sh*ts...maybe that's your cup of tea.
