Oh they’ve definitely forgotten about it. Lol. Which sucks. This game is just running the 360 version in back compat on XBox (they haven’t touched the game there since the 360 gen), and the PS5 is just running the PS4 bare bones port we got about a decade ago, with no upgrades over the original PS2 version. Would be nice if they’d at least give Playstation the Scholarship Edition that the 360 had, but they couldn’t even be bothered to do that in 2016. We had a rumor that Bully 2 was in the works at some point, but was cancelled by Rockstar, along with the GTA 5 dlc, when GTA Online became their main focus.

the old graphics, when the game was originally designed with, honestly have a certain level of PS2 Rockstar/RAGE engine charm, the newer shader models the Xbox one use look obviously technically a lot better, yet there is a nice "presence" of the visuals of the PS2 quality graphics for sure, but it's also possible I identify with that era so much 🤣🤣 playing GTA SA on that console with the basically exact same graphics and simple blob shadows, there is just something to that simplicity that is awesome

The RAGE engine was designed for the next generation of consoles after PS2. All of the PS2 rockstar games run on the Criterion engine

I prefer the Ps2 version over the Scholarship edition because of the darker artstyle, less bugs and because the camera is closer to Jimmy which feels better. But yes graphically the scholarship edition is the best one.

here's a comment to save you 15 minutes: the series x version looks better because it runs a more updated version (scholarship edition) while the ps5 version runs a 1080p version of the original ps2 version

Only 40% of the original and Xbox 360 games are backwards compatible on series X :( I have so many 360 games that aren’t compatible so it’s best to own a Xbox 360 and hack it with a shit ton of games lol

Ive been replaying the PS2 version of this game and i honestly prefer it over the scholarship edition versions i consider it the most stable version of all, i dont mind the 30fps but 60 would've been nicer however its understandable because this is an old game and ofc it lacks the extra content like in scholarship edition but if you're playing the game just for the main story then you don't need to worry about that at all Fun Fact: the PS2 version has a unique exclusive soundtrack for the Photography classes unlike scholarship edition reuses the "Bike Park" soundtrack for those classes

The Wii version is actually the best version, it’s got the PS2 look and includes all the scholarship edition bonuses, and also it’s motion control 🥊

@@0zbrian oh yeah I like the Wii version but I think the controls kinda suck for it I find fighting more difficult but it is nice that the Wii version is similar to the PS2 and has slightly better graphics and also includes all the scholarship edition content

@@MichaelM28 yeah you're right actually, I just thought about the PC version because I play it with mods and fixes that help improve the overall experience like support for widescreen and 60fps so I'm used to 60fps on the PC version completely forgetting it's originally 30fps

Like I said before this has nothing to do with Playstation 5 or Xbox X. Many people, like myself, have both consoles so this vid is useful in seeing which version is better overall and how they look in comparison. @@MichaelM28 Most games run worse than on original PS2, plus input delay, and new bugs and visual artifacts. The Jak and Daxter games run in slow motion at times for example. It's even worse on PS5 because it's basically backwards compatibility of emulation. Go check a Manhunt gameplay video on PS5 hardware, it's a horrible eyesore of corrupted visuals.

This is ps2 game ported on ps3 then reused on ps4. PS5 is playing PS3 port.
