Loved this Spon, so impressive. I know very little about the monuments of Wales, so a fascinating watch. The soundtrack works really well, nice to hear your music again. 😊

Thank you kindly. There are so many riddles locked up in the enigma of this landscape, which might very well have been called 'Ireland' at various times in its history as it is one of Wales closest areas to it and has been 'invaded' 'colonized' whatever now and then by the Irish. Thus Geoffrey of Monmouth's idea that the stones were transported from "The Giants Dance" in 'Ireland' (this area may have even been called 'Ireland') it could have meant that the stones (certainly the Blue Stones) were moved from the Preseli's as is current thinking. The rocky outcrops perhaps including Carn Menyn shown in the video were quarry sites. There is great debate as to why the Neolithic went to such trouble to transport these stones (stones of the ancestors?!~) 180 miles to Stonehenge. Some say they were transported by the glaciers in the Ice Age but frankly as there have been no other findings of sizeable Bluestones found anywhere in the Wessex area this looks unlikely. But some folk believe that all the same. Anyway it took a few mo's to realize who you were initially, you have changed your channel name! I wondered why I stopped seeing your videos now I can catch up lol! I took up the flying camera pastime to get birds eye views of historical and spectacular landscape's of course Wales is beautiful in 2d (flat stuck to the ground) but in 3D (up in the air) it is absolutely spectacular and to create sound directly to my footage is inspirational to say the least. I am so lucky to be here. I can only imagine being stuck back in the overcrowded lands of chalk and clay. I do hope you and yours are all well and great to see that you too are still creating! If you are ever in West Wales you must visit!😀🤠

Excellent graphics and a real mystery. Thanks for doing this. I wonder if the line continues across the sea? I imagine it goes to Ireland?

Maybe next year I will do the @GeoWizard straight line mission between the megaliths and monuments. At my age I might very well be the oldest person to ever attempt this shenanigans lol!

Hi. Fascinating stuff. Re: the deviation from North - is it possible that the line was directly aligned to "true North" or " Magnetic North" in the Neolithic period? Magnetic variance in the intervening millennia could account for any modern day misalignment.

Yes I wondered that! I know the north pole 'wanders' over time. How would our neolithic people have known where the north is? Would they even have thought of the concept. I have no idea of their world view. However I guess they could have followed bird migration route's? The line crosses the Celtic Sea to the Mountains of Mourne, and maybe birds follow using the magnetic poles? Everything I think off leads to more questions, I reckon there must be an 'Ockham's Razor' somewhere!

I've long been convinced that there are ancient alignments in Britain, especially in the west. I'm from the Ayrshire coast in Scotland and have OS maps covered in pencil drawn straight lines that link sites. Two or three sites on a line could be coincidence but four or five is beyond the realms of chance. Keep your eye out for more as I'd love to know if you find more. And what were they used for? Navigation? Or for ownership? I reckon the answers are still out there to be found.

Certainly needs further investigation.

Yes I think it does indeed, if it could be worked out it would tell us a great deal about our ancestors belief system and society
