I like trying new things to branch out and become a more dynamic artist with a nice style. But I find I'm happiest with my at when I'm just enjoying the process and my art for what it is. It's difficult because I want to grow, but also have fun, so it's a balance of new things and doodles.

Steph, everything you draw is your "style". Because no matter what supplies you use, what paper, colors, whatever, you put a part of YOU into it and that's what makes a style. It doesn't matter what you use, we will always be able to tell it's been done by YOU and only YOU! So experiment all you want, it doesn't mean you'll ''lose'' your style, it'll always be there. Whatever you draw, the fact that YOU drew it makes it YOUR style. So don't stress out about it, please :) Just let yourself do whatever you want ❤ Because whatever you create will always be your style, because you made it ❤

My school is really chill. There's really no limitations to who you hang out with. I hang out with a bunch of Engineering/Science nerds, but they're into other things too. Also, all the people you would deem as popular people, I'm chill with them too, and they like all sorts of different things. No one's really bound by a definition or anything like that

ADAMO! It's a type of brush pen called fudenasuke! A few different brands use them, tombow makes a version that I've been testing against the mangaka for awhile. Also for traditional brush pens, I suggest Sakura Professional Brush Pens, they're so much easier than regular brush pens!

My friend owns the green one of this ink! We’ve used it together and it’s super fun but we never really find a good opportunity to use it since it’s so vibrant. Love the pelicans though, too funny and cute!!

My grandparents live on an island. One day as a wee lady, we were by the fishing port wall and there was a pelican was tangled up in a net! My mom, granddad and I helped untangle it and the fed it some bait. From then on it visited us amd the named it after me :) Priscilla the pelican friend :D

I too get nervous about putting my art out online. It's either not good enough in my head or not good enough once I post it. But sometimes you've done all you can on an artwork and just have to let it go out into the world. I also had to draw a can in art class.

I am so with Steph on the fear of self-criticism, i deal with it everytime i draw, It has also kept me from drawing alot of times too. Its not fun. Also at my school (im 30 now) we had Moshers and Townies. I was a mosher and it was pretty much a uniform of Dark Hoodies, band tshirt, long baggy jeans, wallet chain hanging from side of leg and black backpack covered in badges and tipex.

I can relate to what Steph is saying so much! I always limit my art and try to make it fit my very shallow idea of good enough and if i'm not happy enough with it i'll make sure no one ever sees it. Fun to see that i'm not alone and even someone as amazing as steph struggles with these things. Also have you guys ever tried needle felting (or dry felting)? In case you haven't i suggest giving it a go. It's really fun and i think you could be able to make some super cute stuff with it if you tried. I live in the Pelican State, so I see them daily with living in the rice fills not far from the sea. The Pink Spoon Bills and they are always trying to hang out with the smaller birds and go after pests and loose crawfish in the fields. However, I always have the issue of being strict on myself. I’ve been trying to push out of it and hence gotten into Watercolor Pens and Markers as they are more portable compared to my Gansai and watercolor sets. I can do watercolorly work and marker style pieces with one pen.

I haven’t necessarily used any new art supplies but they were new for me, I bought my first proper sketch book, pack of pencils and a black copic marker to start drawing. And the only colouring pens I have are highlighters and pencils so everyday im either doing the highlighter challenge or making really faint artwork :( But I’m happy and I’ve just binged you and lavender towne all weekend trying to develop my style ;)

I was sitting here going HOW HAS SOMEONE NEVER SEEN A PELICAN but then I remembered that not everyone lives somewhere where pelicans are as common as seagulls like I do. Baytown Texas has a CRAP TON of brown pelicans and occasionally we even get a flock of pure white ones and those are pretty cool to see.
