A lot of indie games show up on PC first because it's cheaper to develop for and Steam doesn't have the same lengthy approval process that the consoles do. So if it does well on PC I would expect a console release would follow.

This is what I'm talking about! More inline with SEGA 32X pixel graphics that all the 8-16-bit stuff that's been coming out the past 4 years. The 24/32-bit style pixel graphics is the right balance of retro storytelling and pixel detail and animation.

I'm kind old, and I still love to play retro games regularly without cheats, savestates etc, so it was not that challenging to get into it's rhythm, to put it simple. This one reminds me of the sensation I had playing Treasure/Capcom/Konami games back in the day. High-quality action designed games.

steel assault has super tight gameplay, but it’s definitely not easy, and the mechanics take a bit to get used to. I’d give it a second shot. Electric Underground has a great review of the game, and Iconoclast has an Expert mode no damage clear if you’re ever stuck.

Gameplay reminds me Sunset Riders. Characters have weight and you need to position yourself carefully to reach enemies. You also can shoot at background layer

I love TD pixel art games. I just don’t like when they look like they were made on super Nintendo and Sega Genesis. Things I look for in a 2d sprite base game. 1. Lots of enemy types. 2. Lots of animation for every character, including the main and enemy characters. 3. Tons of parallax scrolling tons of animation in the background.
