Thanks for the new video, I'm very happy to see a series on X rays! I am confused by the pleural effusion image at 8:05. What is the dark semicircle in the upper left lung - does this baby also have a pneumothorax? Or is that an area of well-inflated lung? The shape and location seem odd for an area of good aeration, but there are some wisps of white in the area that make me think it's not a pneumothorax.

Hi Marion- great point. I had to go back and look at the X-ray- that is a weird demarcation down the center of the left lung. But as you pointed out- there are good lung markings going out to the periphery so doesn't look like a pneumothorax. It also seems like it's too far lateral to be a pneumomediastinum. I wonder if this is an artifact from something underneath the baby? Excellent comment though
