Neonatal Journey

Having a baby admitted to the Neonatal Unit can be a frightening and a worrying time. Our doctors and nurses will help you manage this experience. They will give you clear information and practical support throughout your baby's stay.
This Neonatal video has been created to help families understand what to expect when they arrive in our unit.
Not all of our families will have had the opportunity to visit the unit prior to their stay. This may be because some of our babies may have been born outwith Dumfries and Galloway and are being repatriated back to Dumfries for continuing care.
The video and the ward information folder have been created to provide as much information as we can, to ensure our families are well informed.
