Hello and a heartfelt Welcome!
I hope, you're all well and enjoy my little beginners piece as it seems. Disastrous!!! One rookie mistake after the other... In the end all was good, though
Thank you also for your support in form of a like, a comment or being a patreon!
Thank you so much Stephanie, Lori, Susan, Dianne, Lisa and Kathrin for already supporting me as my Patrons
More content in a more private setting with behind the scenes videos, early access, Discounts, artwork you can get if you join us and support me at patron.
/ winterstromart
Oh, please, learn from my mistakes! First of all, start small! If you eventually go bigger, make sure you mix up enough paint. That saves you nerves and money!
OK, enough yelling
My Pouringmedium:
Behr Dynasty deep base semi-gloss and minwax polycrylic (roughly 2:1) from Home depot
And thinning to the right consistency with JoSonja gloss varnish (Dick blick, jerrys artsarama or Fluidart.co)
The magic juice/Cell activator is mixed with australian floetrol. (1:1)
My recipe for US Floetrol Cellmix
1part paint Golden titanium white (works best)
1 part glue all
2 parts US Floetrol
a few drops of wood conditioner
acrylic ink as a thinner possible
The paints I used are neon pigments from This little piggy. You can get them at Fuidart.co
blickrylic black (Dickblick.com)
Firedots - pearl black (Discoundcode below)
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The spinner I'm using is my own design and creation. Every single workstep is done by my hands and my table saw (operated by me)
I sell these on my homepage and if you want to up your game and create on big canvases, you seriously should check it out!
DISCLAIMER: It's a tool for serious artists, I always recommend getting a small , cheaper spinner to try if spinning is your thing first. After you've tried other versions, I promise you'll appreciate this guy over all of them if you work with big heavy canvasses and you spin all the time, like me.

That my dear, is a rainbow trout in the highway. The master photo bomber wants to eat it. It’s a success in that we learned so much from you having the confidence to show something that did not totally please you. I wouldn’t scrape it unless I was out of canvas and had a better plan. Personally, I dig it big time. But yeah, my failed attempts (all of them so far) serve me to appreciate even more the artists I follow and admire. It ain’t easy folks!

It did lose some vibrancy but I think a resin topper will amp the intensity up quite a bit. A lot of times the paintings that I love wet but I'm kind of meh about when dry seem to come alive again once I add a resin coat. Nice work! And smooches to Helga!

Hi Jessica, I love your composition and the colors are awesome. I really like the upper left middle pinks and oranges where you go in real close and show the white netting. I like the cells where they created a different type of cell structure. That was really exciting. I especially love the frenetic and energetic movement as the composition dances across the canvas. I thought it was a great opportunity to show us how a painting consisting of very bright colors, in this case neon, can become absorbed into the black base layer when we least expect it to do that, but that it does happen because it's the nature of expermenting. Again the composition is insane and abstract and I'm drawn to it as one of your most exciting paintings. It would be interesting to keep it and see if it changes anymore or if you can paint on it later in some way or.....gosh you could keep the parts you love the most and cut off parts and make it into a whole new painting, Re-stretch it onto a smaller frame or create something different like maybe a hanging mobile stretched in different ways. Or.... create a wire or wooden frame to make an abstract lamp and stretch the painted canvas around where the light or (a black light) will shine thru the bright colors and cast upon the room. Who knows you might blow your own mind and ours as to what you'll manifest. (It is really a cool painting. I'd ponder it and give it a chance.🎨🐾your doggie likes it and sat in front of it ' to claim it's good!' 💖🤔🎨. Yep I love it!

This has completely inspired me to work with neons sith black base. I've been playing with black base swipes for the last week (ran out of the white I use for my base when my order from Jerry's was back-ordered/canceled) and produced my newest "fav." Now I'm going to go for bigger, bolder with the neons for sure! Also, there are no such things as "rookie mistakes" - there's only growth 💗 I always try to remind myself of this so the things that feel like "mistakes" aren't discouraging. Mistakes are things that aren't "supposed to" happen, growth is the thing that we should always be reaching for! You are an amazing artist and most likely that's because of growth 😍
