It's insane to me that this is one of the only games on the market where people will state the game is rigged against them and then continue to play it. If you truly believed in scripting, handicap, etc., there is not one good reason you should be playing the game. When you win, is EA scripting and scheduling your wins, so therefor your input doesn't matter?

Hey Nep, going back to talking about the mental side of things in conjunction with gameplay/evo’s and the game as a whole. As someone who doesn’t have a crazy amount of time to play all I do is use my Fulham team and do evos and try not to get stressed. What really helps me is having my mind somewhere else, I listen to audiobooks whenever I play, focus on the story and let my hands go on auto pilot and it just works… I have 30 wins in my last 3 champs runs (9/10&11) and it’s honestly been ridiculously chilled out

Hi Nep! People prefer the other series (crappers) because you won’t see promo cards for those players like ever. In my opinion, evolutions are flawed as a concept and here’s why: If you support a big team, like Arsenal, we are bound to get promo cards for the players, thus, making evolutions worthless. Even more than that, you get to spend a lot of time and coins evolving players that are not in the power curve anymore. For me, i started the year evolving Liverpool players and i found it worthless just 2 months in. So i had to re-think the way i approach the game. It was an easy way out since i started evolving national team players (Romania) which never get cards. The system should be more into the playing with players and getting XP points (or whatever, like UFL) to evolve them yourself as you PLAY THE GAME. I hate the fact that i have to wait for evolutions and then even more than that, to see if my players fit and then even more than that, to get another evolutions which is way better than the ones i spent my time on…

Momentum and DDA is clear to see if you've played Career mode/Squad battles. We all know if you're near the 45th or 90th minute the AI becomes attacking gods and if you give away a free kick they score every time, but obviously it can go both ways. I don't see why EA wouldn't have the same code in ultimate team, it's just less noticeable because humans control a player each but you can still see defensive shapes fall apart in the 90th minute to lose/win you the game. DDA is in the game.

I have the funniest story ever, that relates to the mental part of the game that you just talked. The best eafc that I ever played was a night that I got home and start playing after having a few drinks 😂 I was so stress free and not triggered that it looked like the game was in slow motion. I saw all the plays, all the runs, everything. That's when I realise how powerful the mental part of the game is

I think that DDA doesn’t exist, it’s just that you drop into a calmer more care free mental state. When you’re winning, you’ll probably attempt more risky passes or shots due to being 2 or 3 goals up which eventually leads to conceding.

I fully agree with you on the game's mental side. It's crazy how different the game makes me acts sometimes. And it's the only game that makes me act/feel like that. I get frustrated at other games but as soon as the game ends or I turn off the PC/console I forget all about it and move on like nothing happened. But with FIFA/FC that feeling lingers a bit longer which affects how I play in the next game or just makes me grumpy for a few minutes and then I "come back" to normal.

No one knows how or why DDA/Handicap/Scripting is assigned. It seems random. I think it’s important to realize that it goes both ways. When i get the handicap in my favor, it’s so easy to recognize. When i get the handicap against me, it’s so easy to recognize. Sometimes what people call “scripting” can be attributed to poor connection. Sometimes it can be down to just bad gameplay. Sometimes it can just be that you’re playing poorly. Scripting isn’t a part of every game. BUT, every few games it can be overwhelmingly apparent that one of my opponent or myself is receiving help from the game in a way that is unfair. I dont agree with people who swear by the fact that it just doesn’t exist. I don’t agree with the people who always blame DDA/scripting for every loss they take. It’s in the game. It’s always been there. 45th minute. 90th minute. sometimes the whole game. but not every game. only some games. only EA know. but i’ve seen WAY too much to deny it’s existence

That’s why I’ve stopped buying expensive players. When fifa first came out I saved up 120k for Sam Kerr and in less than a week she dropped to 20-30k🤣 after that I stopped using the transfer market to buy those types of players and only use it for silvers and bronze cards. I’m playing a lot more games and getting packs that way so when or if I ever pack Hazard it will mean more and I will enjoy it more.

I never play champs, I play my rival matches and can normally get my wins in a night or two, everything else i just do is to get my evos done. I run and Orlando City and Pride PnP, normally its all evos + Kaka, this year we've had a lot of promo cards because the Pride broke records, I lose my shirt on Kaka cards but I know I'm going to over time but I always want the best available of every Orlando PnP card and only he normally has some real value.

The problem with market crash, it's so many hi level traders now, that sits on many high level cards. So when they all sells at the same time the market crash are crazy, before it was usually just a little decrease every week for the players you bought.

I don't think so. Even traders now are scared of investing and holding cards for more than a few days. Most of the coins they make are by flipping the card within hours or a day max. I think the crashes are caused by the ammount of promo packs EA release each day and the fact that people buy them which eather increase the supply on the market because people list the cards that they just packed or lower the demand because people pack the card that they wanted and don't need to buy it on the market.

my opion ondda is it a myth the 2-0 down thing is normal a switch tactic or player for example i off take rush off for giroud vini off for a winger swap from 4411 to 433(4) and using giroud to bully cb with strength instead rush speed create chances do to a chance to playstyle im not cross to ball to rush but can with giroud or using other different playstyle from the bench to create different if you defenced the same way to ariel fitness or power shot gap open and you get pull apart plus and 2-0 up you start mentally leaving to game so the chance in style hard to noticed on counter

Just to clarify the comment about trying to keep possession while 2-0 down. It may well be the case that the opponent has little incentive to try to regain the ball when leading by 2 goals (if you're simply keeping the ball). I've actually noticed the effect while leading by a significant margin in draft - sometimes my opponent gets irritated and just tries to hold the ball out of spite. In this scenario, I've found regaining the ball extremely hard, even against low tier opponents. My point still stands, if you want a reasonable way to 'test' DDA, go into an online game (perhaps against a friend), and notice how difficult it is to retrieve the ball from an opponent who is behind. Again, in my opinion, this is the result of the leading teams stats being nerfed, and the trailing teams stats being buffed. Would love to see you try out this experiment!

I know you've played Clubs before, but if you played Clubs regularly, you'd see the script in action. Me and other 4 guys, playing together for years, playing the same way every match, we have our plays down to a T, yet there are matches where the opponents AI will block every single pass and shot no matter what you do, and will win every rebound UNTIL our opponents score. After the ball goes in once, THEN you can hit passes and shots on goal. Next match, every shot we take goes in and it's our opponents turn to struggle to even create a chance. Clubs AI is so blatantly scripted it would take a blind man to not see it

I don't believe in DDA, scripting or momentum. I do fully believe confidence is in the game. It's something that is in career mode and from past experience with EA have thing from career like mode transferring over to ultimate team mode. Many years ago, I was a part of a group on Madden that could swear that players would do everything perfectly then 1 mistake normal user error that player would make more mistake until they got back into a rhyme. EA at the time said it wasn't true, but then 2 games later confidence was a visual in the game and EA never address adding it. I firmly believe mechanics from other mode can be in ultimate team that the wide community are unaware of. It would explain why keepers will make save after save in 1 game, but you feel like can't save a thing in another. Same with striker missing everything or scoring everything it never seems to be a middle ground.

DDA happens on squad battles. Ive done it enough over the years when im 5:0 and im passing it around the back for the pass accuracy and possession. after X amount pf passes or time the players will pass a wayward pass. If you dont believe me try it, I promise this is a thing. So it wouldnt be too far fetch to believe something similar is coded in the game for online gameplay. Ive even spent a game doing full player lock passes, and the same result happens

I agree with your take on DDA in general, but I think it's absolutely in there when it comes down to the last 10 minutes of the game. I also believe stamina + composure stats play a part in how players will react in these moments. I think EA need to give us a full breakdown of everything stats actually do.

you are correct about the stamina, the lower the stamina the lower the stats get on the players if that makes sense, if someone has like red stamina their passing and shooting etc won't be tip top. DDA though in no world exists...

I don’t think there’s scripting, however I do think there is a type of momentum that in the moment is frustrating but hindsight makes sense. Being 2-0 up I find it harder than normal to move the ball out of the back. However it should be that way, the other team should be applying pressure to try and get one back like any real team would. It’s about making the correct decisions to alleviate that pressure. Sometimes instead of trying to make a pass that’s 180 degrees from you with players who are not the greatest passers of the ball it would make more sense to boot the ball up the field or out to reset the defensive shape. We see it with Arsenal irl all the time, holding a team in their own half until they eventually ping the ball up into space or Arsenal cause a mistake. That’s my opinion but I’m a dumb American haha

I am agnostic about DDA. Here is a take on DDA that is rarely brought up. Instead of making the argument that it benefits the losing team to balance gameplay and keep engagement, what if DDA was just randomly assigned?. EX. from 1- to - all the players. So, essentially, you do not know what stats are boosted or lowered. Why you ask? Because it is in EA's interest to keep all players in the game. If you are a CC FC and/or Pro player, You probably have the best cards up to now. Why get new cards? One reason is because the current ones no longer play the same (assuming EA manipulation) This will take you to spend and play more for rewards. When rewards fail, there is the store. That is engament for EA which equals more profits. I'd like to hear your take on that if it has not been addressed. Cheers from NYC.

@ Not forever necessarily. Just enough to make you get new ones. Remember, my argument is that EA is a pro-profit corporation therefore maximizing profits is their mandate. Then altering stats on players to make players spend more money makes sense from that point of view.

On the point of DDA, I don’t believe it exists either. I think so many people would realise what they call “scripting” or “momentum” can be attributed to their own mistakes if they just watched their gameplay back. 99% of us don’t record our games and in the moment you think you’re playing well and not making mistakes and the game is against you, but if you just watched the footage back you’d see yourself panicking, making bad passes or diving into tackles unnecessarily. I get 11/12 wins in WL and currently in Div 1 rivals, I’d say 95% of my games (win or lose) go to the better player and after recording some of my games I could see my own mistakes that I made in the heat of the moment. To me, having DDA in this game would make no sense from EA’s part.
