Yikes- that looks like bad bad news. I wonder how much methane is estimated in this area. I see in Siberian Arctic ice shelf there exists over 500 billion tons of methane in frozen hydrates - which is STARTING to melt, to my surprise we have about 5 to 7 billion tons of methane in the atmosphere. From what I read is we're already past the tipping point where these hydrates are starting to melt. Good thing the last time this happened, most carbon based life on the planet ONLY died. ugh
