I have been collecting cassettes for a couple of years now and I go crazy for those clear tapes. I'm 19 so I wasn't old enough to use them when they were in their prime but they're just so much fun to hunt down and listen to! Happening upon Back to the Future's soundtrack is probably one of my finds i'm most proud of though :') My sister is big on collecting VHS tapes too because we have such an abundance of VHS players and tapes in thrift shops in california.

New subbie here! So, I think we are the same person! I love 80's, 90's, early 2000's stuff! I post garage sale hauls all the time with toys and memorabilia from those time periods! I love the Duck Tales book! Great finds!!!

I LOVE The Young Ones, and Bottom! Rik Mayall was a true genius and he's greatly missed all over the world. A proper English gent. Love all the old records and tapes too! I lived with my naff sponge headphones on, plugged into my Walkman haha! Takes me back in time!

I remember the old civic video rental store that was around when I was a kid, it had collectables for sale in the front, like looney toon mugs and stuff, and what I loved the most about it was the kids area was closed in so you had to walk into I guess like a cubby area wear all the kids movies were, and we'd just sit in there having fun and checking out the kids stuff. Also the horror section had a a little closed in area too that was all dark and scary with creepy hands poking out if the walls and we'd always have fun scaring each other in there too. This was all before DVD.

OMG, this was so awesome!!! I miss video stores too :( Holy, i just watched the part in this video where you said how obsessed you were with Rik Mayall and you used to impersonate him, I did exactly the same thing when I was a teen!! I can't believe we both did that growing up!! Everyone thought I was weird but i loved Rik Mayall and even wrote a fan letter to him and got an autographed photo back :) I so wanted to marry Rik Mayall

You might be able to remove the sticky labels by using a hairdryer. The heat should soften the adhesive and allow you to carefully peel off a corner of the label. Then aim the hairdryer on the area you've lifted off and keep on slowly working on it. I use tweezers otherwise I burn my fingers. Best to keep the label parallel to the surface of the box when you're peeling it off - if you pull it straight up it might damage the box. Alternatively you could use oil on the metal tin. Any oil works but eucalyptus is very good. once the label is off, just clean the area with a bit of soap. The smell should dissipate quickly enough.

lighter fluid for getting off labels. pour lighter fluid on some cotton wool place cotton wool immediately on label and soak label with the fluid. within a couple of minutes the glue will weaken. if table tears leaving glue apply more lighter fluid by wiping with gotten wool and glue will come off. STAY AWAY FROM FIRE AND WASH HANDS AFTER. The lighter fluid is better than any solvent as it won't damage the glossy paper. you're welcome needed know 😘

As for the scratched records you could always frame them as art.... That's what I did with some records.... I don't own a record player so I framed them... Cyndi Lauper, The Monkees, Beatles etc... I need another frame for my Fraggle Rock one though....

I still got my first cassette I purchased. a live recording of Vanilla Ice: To the Extreme. Also a handful of my sister cassette with includes...wait for it...a promo cassette single of 5ive. Also still got Spawn, Earthworm Jim, Garbage Pail Kids, and a few old UFC on VHS. As for the Savers price tags, they are a bitch to remove. I still got residue on my golf clubs for my Casey Jones cosplay. To end this comment, here's to the love of Rik Mayall work on Young Ones and Bottom. ;)
