Small detail but it seems like Vi won this fight because she learned to defend rather than attack. Before she is never afraid to take damage out of toughness, so she is rarely blocking. Early in the fight she is taking punches to the face and instead of defending, she attacks more which leads to getting one of the gauntlets destroyed. At the end of the fight it seems like she finally shows vunerability (putting her hand up to defend herself) and that's when the shield goes up, which was a hidden function of the gaunlets. It's like an aha moment or level up for her character and development.

Yes, originally he hunts people indiscriminately., but after he is haunted by memories of presumably Vi, he specifically targets those who smell like blood in the figurative sense as well as the literal - criminals who have gotten their hands dirty and are responsible for the deaths of people. Even as Singed releases Vander/Warwick's inner monster, he still is trying to do good in the only way he can now. He's basically League's version of the Punisher. he knows he's doomed and has nothing left, so he may as well clean his city up

I love that throughout the show, Vi keeps using the move mid fight where she jumps in the air to come down on her opponents. It's an impulsive and arrogant move that leaves her open, and repeatedly, she does get taken down when she tried it. In this fight, it is Sevika that makes that play, and Vi takes advantage of it by going on the defense and taking advantage of how open Sevika left herself. That's such great subtle story telling

I love absolutely everything about this scene. It’s the best animated fight scene I’ve ever seen in my life and arguably the best fight scene I’ve ever seen in any media. Two things I haven’t seen commented on: when Vi blocks and the shield comes up, to me it looks like Sevika has the tiniest smile at the edge of her grimace - like she’s impressed and Vi has fully gained her respect. I also like to think it’s a grin of “god, this is fun.” My other favorite tiny detail is immediately after Vi ripe Sevika’s arm off, the majority of the light in the room then comes from the shimmer leaking everywhere as Vi swings her. That bright purple glow in the mostly dark room, just barely lighting the final moments, are absolute art.

Even though this is in Vi's imagination, this is Vi's mindset, and even after what happens after this: In Vi's mind, she's knows her sister still needs her and that it's not going to get any easier. It's weird how Vi & Sevika have built a bond, even though they hate each other. At the end of the day, they both have this need to settle things with their fists. Without Vander around, Sevika is pretty much the only person Vi can come to when she needs to work sh*t out. Plus, a lot of Vi's issues can't be resolved by talking. She needs someone she can let loose on without beating on someone weaker than her. She knows Sevika is always ready to throw down, and she knows Sevika can take her best and give some back as well. This is the one place Vi can be angry where nobody is going to ask her why.

It's useful in the jungle where she needs some extra health against monsters. They can hurt a lot. Other champions that aren't junglers could struggle.

There is something so great about seeing Strictly MMA or Hand to Hand fights that make fights seem so natural. No Ki Blast or eye lasers. Just straight up fist to fist, Up close and personal. Arcane did fights scenes so well. Very Gritty. Vi Vs Sevika was a rival bout but they had respect for each other. Great stuff here.

I used to hate Vi as a character in League. Snarky punk girl with big punchy fits. But, now, after this show, she's one of my favourite animated characters. She's just so well-written, like most of the characters in this show. She's a fighter who absolutely gets beaten down. She loses a fair bit of the time but keeps going. The writers aren't making any annoying political statements with any of the characters here. They're just telling great stories. I REALLY hope they put as much care into the future of this show as they have done with season 1. If it takes another 6 years, it'd be worth it.

As a woman and an artist, it's so good to see woman like in Arcane : When they get punch in the face, their face got deform by the punch. It doesn't stay still and pretty. When they nose-bleed, it's not tiny dot, it got on their teeth, face, clothes. They lose teeth if they get punch too much and hard. The hair are all over the place. They are sweating. They have scars and missing limbs. And the emotions on their face is not only smiling. They are feminine *and* strong. They are still attractive but got messed up and I love seeing that. Woman before being woman are human. This is how Arcane write their girl and woman characters. And I'm happy it's more like that now in media. It's the same with Turning Red or Encanto recently. When they have expression, it's cartoonish, expressive, you can see what's on their mind, what's their real reaction is. "Girls are weird in the new Disney blabla" Nah dude, she having human emotions. You're not use to it and that's the problem. It's not normal for a woman to show that she is human, and not only pretty. So yeah, she's gonna have funny faces, being cringe, after a fight or when waking up she's not going to look good. Yeah she smell, but did you see that she win a bar fight against someone who is wanted to kill her ? And that she got a power up ? And an emotional scene were she grow ? Flat emojis have more emotions than girls in media, how is this normal ? And what about blood ? We can't even talk about periods ! Woman can't bleed on their periods ! Her lips have more red than her injuries. So yeah, I like seeing fictional woman getting punch. Give me more Jolyne please. It was an amazing fight but who else think Sevika could've won this? Personally I think Vi got lucky with that shield, if she had no shield at the end, Sevika would've cut through her gloves. Not saying I want Vi to lose but just wanted to point that out.
