@@shotgun5822 Hi! You only need the phone to "program" your dice with different patterns. And also if you want to play sound effects; the dice don't have speakers :)

Resin is waterproof, so no issues woth the water test

@@nickanderson8305 the website shows the testing process, they had a box rotate to roll the dice 10,000 times and recorded the data using the technology in the die that allows it to detect what was rolled

I want a third part who was not paid by them to verify the results. It takes like 5 minutes and $1 of salt.. I'm always concerned that these are weighted because of the internals. Have you (or anyone) checked if they are weighted or not?

I haven't no, but they will eventually have trackable metrics so you can keep log of the roll results

They have done tests with loads of rolls and they are no more weighted than the majority of commercial dice, which aren’t perfect anyway. EDIT: I rechecked the video on the discord about it and that was 10,000 rolls and I believe they kept balancing with small counter weights where needed based on the results.

This is incredible. Imagine rolling a 20 and hearing the rainbow make a shimmering sound, or rolling a 1 and hearing flames fade in and out in tune with the red lights.

I suppose the brain is housed on your phone or computer and the dice is the output. That is still a scarry number of things to fit inside of a d20. They must charge through induction. I wonder how that will affect the circuitry.

These are really cool, and I loved the balancing test video on their website, because my immediate concern was fairness. 5 hours battery life probably isn't enough for longer play session tables, but I imagine you could pop them on the charger in between use at points to extend that. Still, my only last concern is with battery charge cycle life. Hopefully if they're left sitting for a week before being used again it won't cause battery life issues. If they start losing any battery life after a year or two, it could make them difficult to keep going at the table, which would be a huge disappointment for a $200 dice set. Given the cost, though, I imagine they'll do their best rather than trying to intentionally create planned obsolescence (which is what all the knockoffs will surely do.)
