You can tell that Chris Hardwick has a very small frame of reference regarding music knowledge.

This is fkn great... much like EVERY Dave Grohl interview. It's kind of freaky how much he sounds like Joe Rogan when he speaks

I wish I he'd do Rogans show

Holy shit, Dave Grohl is funny. At 34 minutes, Radiohead covering Van Halen's 'Jump' as a song about suicide. "Might as well jump. Jump!" I can hear it in my head.
@ahagamin61809 жыл бұрын
The original Jump is about suicide....

Alex G No, that might've been the original inspiration, but by the time the lyrics were written, Dave changed it to be a song about a guy standing next to a jukebox, hoping the girl would "jump" into love.

Great conversation. It's not DG's fault rock died. It's not his fault everyone asks him to be everywhere. I just wish he's say no sometimes. Cos he seems like a super nice guy and I'm really really tired of seeing him everywhere. Everybody -and I would think that includes DG- needs a big break. Pls take a big break and say no - a lot.

Dave has made a mockery of Kurt's ideals and what he stood for in authentic music expression. Kurt ridiculed the celebrity aspect of the music entertainment business. Meanwhile Dave has managed to create a persona ripping off Kurt's ideals in order to cover for his shameless pursuit of celebrity-hood. It's repulsive and a disgrace and Dave deserves to be called out for it rather than everybody worshiping him.

Well gee....Dave has been with the same band and still making music for 26 years. He is down to earth and is super into his music. Kurt was a musical genius.... And he killed himself. You don't think Kurt wasn't feeling major stress over inner conflict?

Dave has learned to cope with success and was grounded enough to be able to safely/healthily navigate the carnival fun-house of mirrors which being a celebrity must be like, all while keeping his core set of beliefs intact. Sadly, Kurt did not learn this lesson in time, never had the emotional maturity to deal with success and surrounded himself with an even more toxic environment. The simplest way to think of Kurt's flaws is that he was irresponsible. Beautiful person, cool guy, extremely charismatic, very very talented, but he really couldn't face reality.

Dave can handle the demands. Kurt most certainly could not.
