They said "kill Indian army with such brutal force that no one can look at their corpses" Instead what actually happened was that Pakistan refused to take their fallen soldiers' bodies and Indian army buried them with respect.
@NerdSafari3 жыл бұрын
That's interesting (and still quite horrifying!) and we saw similar events in both Iraq and Afghanistan. I can definitely understand the tactic and what it was meant to achieve, but it still saddens me that human beings can treat other human beings that way. Glad that in this case, the Indian families were at least able to retrieve the bodies of the fallen soldiers.

Another interesting fact, fellow soldier Rifleman Sanjay Kumar from 13 J&K too received the Param Vir Chakra (India’s highest gallantry award during War time) for fighting at the same mountain top Point 4875 along with Capt. Vikram Batra; it remains as an unprecedented feat in the annuals of Indian Military history, since no other Indian military companies within the regiment can claim about receiving multiple PVC for the same battle theatre.

Kargil and Siachen are one of the highest fronts in the world. Drones and missiles sometimes are not feasible. Also it was way back in 1999. Indian military modernised heavily post Kargil. Indian Air Force was also used in limited scale to destroy bunkers, where Pak soldier disguised as Mujahideen, were taking cover under rocky bunkers on the top of the mountains.

Wow, that really is incredible. The highest we've ever been in the mountains of Colorado was around 8,000 ft, and even there you could tell that the oxygen was thinner and it was harder to carry out strenuous activities. Based on shattering blasting War story Codenamed Shershah PVC Capt Vikram Batra was a warrior and a war hero in Indian Army during Kargil War 1999 n became a legend. There were other War heroes in other units but movie focuses on this guy n his unit J&K Rifles. He fought valiantly in all battles but was KIA in the last battle of Tiger Hill point 4875. He lives in every Indian heart even today. Saw the movie got goose bumps full of love saga gung ho anti terror operations n war sequences of Kargil War LOC but ends in tragedy as was in the reality during the conflict.

"Heroes are born when bullets fly Earth Explodes n Cannons roar" - Quote from When Trumpets Fade 1998 War movie. Same thing can be said for the movie Shershah portraying Courage n Valour of Captain Vikram Batra Delta Company. Yes War is evil horrible n brutal like in the movie Fury, The Big Red One, Cross of Iron, To Hell n Back, The Thin Red Line n Saving Private Ryan 1998. The poetry from General George S Patton in the Movie Patton 1970 also inspired me... brilliant War film. I too have written a poem on War titled Nefarious War.

The biggest thing during that war is that India chances were less of winning that war as pigs allready advanced on us stealthily,but the pigs lacked in courage and valour,and when the face off happened with Indian Army the pigs started peeing in their pants and running away from their bunkers,hence India won that battle.

Captain Sourabh Kalia and his 5 men were captured and tortured to death against Geneva convention. Post-mortem examinations conducted by India reported that the prisoners variously had cigarette burns, ear-drums pierced with hot rods, many broken teeth and bones, fractured skulls, eyes that had been punctured before being removed, cut lips, chipped noses, and amputated limbs and genitalia. According to the examinations, these injuries preceded the captives being shot dead in the head.
