Then finally, we would watch Courage together. Whenever I do my Courage impression of "things we do for love" she'd laugh hysterically. So, sometimes it is really hard to hold back my emotions whenever i see or hear anything related to these shows. But life has to go on. Courage was one of my favourite shows as a kid! Love this look-back. I think the value of horror cartoons for kids is seriously undervalued by people who grew up in safe circumstances. For kids who go through destabilising childhoods horror shows are a great way of externalising those threats and fears, and Courage's persistence in finding safety at the end can be a real subconscious anchor for kids that might not feel safe anywhere yet.
