I agree with both. The original series was Steven learning how to be a gem, learning about gem stuff, and fixing his moms problems. The movie was him having another problem of his mom’s to fix and realizing that there’s no such thing as a “happily ever after.” Future is about him having no problems to fix, the after-affects of all those missions on his mental health, and him being more gem-like than human-like now.

We still have no idea what happened to Emerald or Kevin or Mean Lapis. It’s also only 20 episodes, and the show was just trying to focus on Steven’s problems, which really needed attention. And the Crewniverse has a budget and all.

I do t like how Connie is basically saying that it’s all of their faults when it is really not! Lapis choose to not fight nice and mean Lapis because Steven did not want it. Peridot realized that Steven was truly upset and spent time with him. Bismuth gave him advice with Connie. Amethyst tried to talk about his future with him. Pearl tried to have fun with and talk with Steven.While yes Ruby and Sapphire told Steven to propose, Garnet comforted him after Connie said not now. Greg rushes to the hospital when he herd Steven needed help and tried to go on a trip and experience good music with him. All of the Diamonds tried their best to help him when he came to them for help. Spinel caught Steven when he was falling and tried to give him his own advice. Connie was nice, got Steven into a doctors appointment, and called Greg when Steven needed him but Connie probably did the most to set Steven this far.

Looking back at Steven Universe Future, I noticed that nearly every episode had at least one of three functions: 1- Push the story arc of Steven's future plans 2- Act as a sendoff episode to 1 or more of the characters 3- Foreshadow the climax The only episode that doesn't seem to fit any of these categories is "Bluebird" unless I'm missing something.

Love the show but when are we gonna learn about the Pink haired woman Pearl met? After what happened with Lars, are we just supposed to assume she was a human saved by Rose? Or what about her and pearl? They exchanged numbers but Pearl never mentions her and she isn’t in Pearls memories during that Inception episode lol I’m okay with now knowing lol but I wouldn’t mind a movie or something exploring Pearl and her, or Pearl and Volleyball, or Pearl and Bismuth ! Lol

That's why there's fanfiction. But I hear you, they left a lot of things just hanging out there. Wrapping everything up would have dragged it out too long, and made the ending less satisfying.
