Baskin Robbins has 31 in the logo because traditionally they always had 31 flavors; that was in their advertising and name. I think the black and white one is a penguin and the pink looks like a platypus, and the other a lobster based on the name; the first letter of the name tends to match the first letter of the creature

@@Themakeupchair15I think they changed some of the colors just for fun. Platypus aren’t pink, and sharks aren’t blue. As far as I know there are some penguins like the Humboldt and African penguins have pink around their beaks but not really on them. Not sure if there is a species with a fully colored beak though.

i prefer all black eyes to eyes with shinies in them. more common in japanese mascots (see: hello kitty, rilakkuma, sumikko gurashi) and IMO much cuter. eyes with white shinies in them look overdone to me. its just a different style of design. the plain black eyes are more of a simplistic japanese "kawaii" mascot design.

I worry about the plastic too. I love the fact that in Japan if you buy a capsule from a gatchapon machine there is usually somewhere to deposit the capsule once you have taken the toy or whatever out, so they can reuse it

Hello nerdecrafter this is my first time commenting on one of your videos I just wanted to point out that the Baskin-Robbins snack animal is actually a penguin because the snack animal for Subway is a platypus if you look closely at the face and plus if the Baskin-Robbins snack animal was a finch, the little wings/arms wouldn't be fluffy, they would be more slick back.

I totally agree with you about how they should have really put whites in the eyes of these characters. They are absolutely adorable, excluding the monkey, of course LO L, but the whites in the eyes would have taken it up a notch. I also agree with the sticker situation. Sagittarius here. In the US they used to call Baskin and Robins 31 flavors. They got in trouble for not actually having 31 flavors on hand and hince the name change to BR but to pay homage to the original name they kept the 31 in the logo. Just thought it was an interesting thing to know.
