I am German and HARIBO is from Germany. It is an ancronym made up of the words "Hans Riegel Bonn" (the name of the inventor and the place). It is pronounced: HA - RI (like in the french word rigole) - BO (like the french word beau). Hope that helps

I'm surprised you find Haribo only in the Dollar Store. Here in Germany, Haribo is one of THE top brands for gummies and other sweets. They are carried by almost all grocery stores, kiosks, gas stations etc. My favourites are the "berries", raspberries and blackberries, that are a gummy core covered with little sugar pearls.

Maybe part of the reason why those figurines are not scented is to not encourage people (and especially children) to think they are edible. If it already looks and feels like edible products, it might not be that great of an idea to make it also smell edible.

I think the proof of pronunciation is in their jingle: "Kids and grownups love it so; the happy world of Haribo!" Therefore, the o sound is the same as in the word so. hey Jackie, my favourite gummies are from a store we have here in the UK (i am not sure whether you have it in Canada) called M&S. They are from the percy pigs collection and they are called fizzy pig tails. They are sort of sour and are really tasty. I would love to see you try them. Strongly scented items give me a migraine headache. I do ok if they have just a light scent.

I’m definitely sensitive to scented things, mostly when they’re very strong. I once had to leave a room because somebody had opened a perfume bottle during a game we were playing. I was choking, gagging and couldn’t breathe and had to be removed from that space. After I was, they opened a window to clear it out and used me to educate the others on why some people like myself are sensitive to it.

Me too! One good breath of artificial scent, and I’m in anaphylaxis!!! The laws have actually changed in Europe and Canada. You can no longer use certain plastic scent additives. The safe ones are much more expensive. So anything that is marketed to Canada and Europe won’t be scented- it’s not worth it to make ‘a US only’ version. The other thing that the Canadian law changed is that the term ‘Unscented’ can’t be used on body and skincare stuff. It has been allowed as the ‘name’ of a fragrance. I can’t tell you how amazing it is that people who think they are fragrance free, they actually are. Also, the number of products I can now use is way broader- including makeup!!!

Breyer an American toy/model company actually released scented models this year for their annual event (breyerfest at the KHP in KY). This year was German themed, the scented models were bears and took their inspiration from Haribo's gummy bears. Long story short it is possible to make scented models! :)

I only ever liked the ones with all of the different flavors that we're rainbow color, I'm not sure if I've ever tried others but even if I haven't those ones we're always my favorite to eat one reason was because they were bars and that they had different flavors based on there colors Edit: I find the fact that you collect postcards pretty funny by the fact that I had a habit of collecting stamps I believe I had a small bin full of stamps from envelopes and sometimes other things. I don't know why I got the habit of collecting stamps but it is in a way an interesting hobby/habit I did develop some of the stamps I had were pretty cool some had interesting designs/patterns and colors

This video is amazing Jackie. The reason they aren't scented is because they were meant to be figures for your shelf and etc. Haribo thought it would be pointless to add scent to the figures. I am also very salty about it lol.

Haribo gummy bears are my favourite also the bags are so cute. I love how you spend ( and waste) your money just we know what to buy and not what to buy 😂 I wish these there actually bags that you could wear it's so darn cute 😩🙃 Also there are like 3 way to pronounce Haribo harry-bo heh-ibo har-ibo

I think the reason the charm was stuck to the bag was to make sure you could read the logo and see that the backpack is from haribo, personally i wouldn’t know that the coke bottle backpack was haribo without it lol

This past Model Horse Fest (Breyerfest) I went to was German themed, so they did actually include gummy bears in with the theme since Haribo is a German company! They made limited edition clear-colored bear figures that came in a pack of 3 and are scented. i don't like eating gummies but Ermergherd those bears smell exactly like a bag of gummy bears.

I love the gummy worms original. Not the sour ones. I remember when I went to the beach 2 years ago an bought some for a snack later. Accidentally left them out in the hot sun an became a gummy blob 🤣
