Jackie, you should try getting a silicone pet food mat for when you're doing messy things like this, so you don't ruin your felt. You can get ones that are dark blue, and the upper side is usually matte. (Pet food mat because they have raised edges that contain any spills) Love your videos, as always. :)

Yay, Sika!!! Did you feed her? Maybe that's why she's biting... hmmm. Paint pours are supposed to cure (dry) for 2-3 weeks. Then sealed with 3-5 coats of sealer. Sanding and gesso were an excellent idea. They are sooo cute! ~Spoonie Hugs~

These are so cute. Next time you pour on an item, place a cup or raised base on a canvas, put the item on the cup and then pour. The excess paint will pour on the canvas. You can remove the item off of the cup and place it on a cookie rack to dry then it won’t stick to the tray. You can then use the remainder of the paint on the canvas and get a painting that looks like your item. The excess paint is called a skin. You can use that to make jewelry. Glue it to the back of a carbacone and then put in a bezel. They are pretty and a good use of excess dried paint. I’ve been doing flow painting for over 7 years. I saw a good one on TikTok today. They poured a single base colour all over the bear, then used a dropper to drip individual colours on top. Looked really cool as the colours didn’t mix as much, and stayed vibrant.

Yay!!! Sika is back! I’ve missed her! Thanks Jackie! Edit to say I definitely want to try this. I’m thinking using a cookie drying rack with a larger canvas underneath. That way the paint dripping off the bear will go on the canvas. No wasted paint and the base should dry better.

Oh, I've missed Sika and your chaotic sister energy together! I've been meaning to try acrylic pouring, but I'm so horrified to waste all that paint that I haven't been able to do it yet - but this looks like fun. Jackie's first bear is my favourite, but if you get more of these, do try adding black as one of the colours, it would make them pop. There are both glossy and matte acrylic paints, some people prefer the mattes, but I've only ever had glossy paints.

The pouring fluid that's mixed into the acrylic paints to make them that runny to begin with actually also gives them this almost glossy finish. Depending on the brand it can be more or less shiny, but it's definitely on purpose that it has at least SOME sheen to it!
