Very surprised you didn’t mention Jennifer Steingass. Her patterns are written amazingly well! They are with fingering to worsted weight yarn with beautiful designs. Lots of sizes. I have done a lot of top down sweaters and enjoy her the most.

Thank you , and everyone that shared their favorite yoke sweaters and designers . Most were unknown to me . Will be looking at the various designer websites to get familiar with their desgins.

That's what I do too! When I discover a new designer I have to go look at their pattern collection.

I always love discovering new patterns and designers, so thank you. I will say that I was shocked that Rachael of Unwind Knitwear was not on the list. I always think of her for yoke sweaters and some killer colorwork. She's got some great ones.

Thanks for the recommendation! We'll probably have to do another collection at some point!

An add to your list is Beth MacDonald Stone's Bermy Basics. The Bermy Basic concept is to give you a basic sweater pattern for any yarn (within reason). I do have and recommend Jessica McDonald's Woodsmoke pattern. She has a complete from start to finish tutorial for it.

My major problem with topdown patterns, both round yoke and raglans is : Not enough shortrows. They are not crewnecks but boatnecks, they are too high in the front and too low over the shoulders, and in the back. I just finished the sleeves and body on Santababy, and will do the neckline now, and I know I will have to modify it somehow. I liked my "No frills Sweater", that one worked. I modified Flax a lot, same as I find ways to add shortrows in the back and sides, and skip rows in the fron of every Icelandic sweater I make. Or just skip some of the first rows entirely, I rather wear an ajustable scarf or buff to fill out a large neck opening. So that V-neckpattern looks really interesting! Thank You! ❤❤

My favorite is Midori Hirose’s Twinkle! Absolute best for colorwork beginners! 👍 Some of them shown here looked intermediate level to me~

I just bought both those Tin Can Knits patterns today. I’m thinking the Love Note first since I have only knit one garment. Thanks for the suggestions!!

Hmmmm...love the vneck pattern! Have some nice wool yarn that might work, would just need the yarn for the main colour. But time to finish my shawl first!

I am currently knitting my first sweater using the Feather Blouse pattern by Yeon Hwa Lee! Two strand of mohair held double, with a slip stitch and lace pattern of a contrasting color. It's beautiful so far! Can't wait to wear it 🥰

Great pattern suggestions! So far the only yoke pullover I’ve knit is the DRK Throwover. Used one variegated yarn for the colorwork instead of the 3 or four. Rather quick knit since it’s worsted weight!

I just finished my 3rd Ranunculus. It's such a quick knit. Only 3-4 days on 6mm needles.

Sweater #9: very nice. QUESTION: Are there two different necklines offered: it appears the greenish-yellow one has a tighter fitting neck than the pinky one. As I've never knit a top-down sweater, but have been thinking about it, this was all great information. So, thank you very much.
@NerdyKnitting9 ай бұрын
There's just one neckline option with that sweater. My guess is it's just the size chosen - a smaller size will have a smaller neck opening.
@catofthecastle16819 ай бұрын
It seems like one of them is a test knit that they preferred a different neckline.

It may be like the flax sweater which has an option to do or skip short rows which changes how the neckline fits. One may be with the short rows and the other without.
@Stumpybear76409 ай бұрын
It may also be a case of skipping the provisional cast on, and doing a long tail cast on on a larger needle for a tighter neckline. Also possible xxx ❤❤❤
