Just a thought is it possible to convert a stampede or a volcan to shoot spring thunder shells
@StuckOnAFireHydrant5 жыл бұрын
@@loganbryson9058 that would be a hard no for the stampede and spring thunder shells. 1) why would you want to? 2) you would need a mag to hold the shells along with a new breech design. This would mean a poor seal and less fps than the stampede already has. 3) an ejection system 4) the timing of it all the the stampede has pretty much 0 room for error in timing or you will shred your gears

The Fusion link directly shows the latest working version I have, so yes, that foregrip is indeed in development. If downloaded, you could try out everything I'm in progress on / scrapped at your own risk, but I will get around to testing and refining foregrip options and push for a more official release. The feedback on some details like the tray door execution are also appreciated here, and I'd hope to think of ways to minimize any possible barrel alignment issues down the road (widening the bore, making it printable in different orientations, etc.). It's a bit ironic, as part of the intention of the cage design is to try to eliminate finicky alignment issues that often end up with modded wheelers. Hopefully with enough users and input, however, I can get some insight into what exactly ends up going wrong here. Again, thanks for giving my blaster a shot!

There could be a ton different issues causing the performance and accuracy problems. I've had extremely mixed results out of Daybreak flywheels in general, after building five or six Daybreak setups. They can have balance issues, offset motor mounting holes, etc. It could also be an issue with the cage or barrel, or a combination of all of the above. If you have another set of flywheels it would be worth swapping them out for testing purposes (I've had better luck with Eclipse wheels in Daybreak cages). If you do figure it out, I'd love to see a follow-up video.

I call shenanigans on cage orientation affecting accuracy. If vertical cage = upwards curve then just flipping it 90 degrees should = sideways curve. It's gotta be form factor, surely.
@WalcomS75 жыл бұрын
I think the idea is you have gravity pulling on the dart so it's most likely not contacting both darts evenly in a vertical cage but that isn't a factor in a horizontal.

@Side85Winder5 жыл бұрын
i am not convinced that horizontal is the way to go. When you think about it not all motors are created equal so if say the left motor is spinning 50-100rpm less than the right then your darts will be thrown out not straight causing you to miss shots to the side. If the motors are horizontal then if you are aiming at say some ones head it might still hit them in the waist. I much prefer brushless motors, make a brushless blaster and hit 200fps its a bit more expensive and complicated but you are going to get a overall better blaster.
@Flygonial5 жыл бұрын
I will say that in developing this blaster, the horizontal cage was strictly just to get the top rail as close to the barrel as possible. I agree with the logic you've put out for where a horizontal cage can go wrong (and I think it applies to stock blasters), but I personally don't think there are major accuracy differences because our current understanding of flywheel speed 'criticality': a certain flywheel geometry generally doesn't gain any more velocity past a range of RPMs, so we run DC motors a good bit faster than this RPM range so we can get consistent shots even as the motors slow down. Also do agree on brushless superiority: more reliable flywheel mounting, more reliable stall protection, control options, etc. I still designed the Gryphon as a more accessible platform, that said, I am thinking of developing brushless blasters down the line.
@Side85Winder5 жыл бұрын
@@Flygonial brushed motors have their place in history of nerf modding, their simple wiring and ease of use which will all ways appeal to modders. The grass snake, lepus, and viper are amazing examples of fantastic compact designs. With brushless look into 1105 motors 5000-6400kv they can run a 4s. So you are looking at easy 200fps preformance they are a lot cheaper than some of the 2205 motors than the FDL and Ultrasonic. They are also very tiny like the 130 size dc brushed motor so will firlt just about anywhere.
@Flygonial5 жыл бұрын
@@Side85Winder Ooo will look into those motors if I want to build some compact brushless builds. What I'm thinking of right now, however, is a bigger RIVAL or Vortex blaster as I start thinking of what I'll do.

@WalcomS75 жыл бұрын
I mean this is really cheap if you have a printer. If you're into the hobby and you don't have one, you should get one; saves you a lot of money. Ender 3 during black friday will probably be less than $170. Really if I didn't buy all the screws from Ace and just used Home Depot (they didn't have all the, "right" sizes but I found out most sizes are close enough) I would have saved a lot. 18$ wheels, 15$ motors, some wire, a single switch, screws, and a battery connector on top of maybe 400g of filament.

@WalcomS75 жыл бұрын
Gravity is a thing, and I somehow doubt that both wheels touch the dart evenly in a vertical setup. I have no way to confirm this. It doesn't really matter much because the main benefit is that you aren't trying to aim with your barrel an inch from the top of the blaster, instead it's pretty much perfectly in line with it.
