Yeah that was weird. But Nerf darts don't hit as hard as Airsoft BBs, and while dodging and escaping, he might've not felt it. Anna Akana what are your thoughts on how Sam was acting? Personally I like all of Node, and my name is Sam too so by law he has to be in my top three favorites. The first time he didn't call it it looked like he was hit in the hood so I didn't care that much but when he did it again and no one else got hit I thought it was too much. As an airsofter I know what it's like to have your adrenaline pumping and things don't hurt as much but you can still feel them.

I really respect Sam as a creator, and love his work on Corridor, Sam and Niko, and any games on Node where he acts as a 'referee' (DMing their game in D&D being a prime example). However, any team vs team based play, he really does cheat persistently, much to the chagrin of a lot of the viewers, and clearly some players in the game. I really think he should reconsider playing in the team vs team games, and embrace his much better role as a referee. I just want to see the best in your videos guys, and saying all that, I really enjoyed this video too.

Ik this is a late reply, but to be fair; Sam most likely didn’t feel either hits AND probably didn’t hear D the second time around seeing as he was frantically running around the corner. He took his jacket off so that he could feel the nerf ammo the next round and as you can see, he didn’t notice it. He immediately sat down when D told him he was out later in the game.

truthfully if you get really immersed in the game the feeling of a foam dart hit as you're running and moving around, you'll probably don't feel or notice it. Also i can tell how sam plays, he has tunnel vision like one of my friend. aka full immersion. so its understandable that it happened. its not like things got heat from it.

Another detail to note, is the first hit was on the Go-Pro so it is unlikely he felt that or it felt like just the weight of the go pro. The second hit was from a far range, so the actual feel of the impact was probably too light to notice. He does seem to have a bit of tunnel vision going though. He need to focus a little more on keeping an ear out for people calling him hit. Overall ya can't really blame him too much, it's easy to get excited in a game with a lot of action and being 1 hit out. Sometimes our human nature gets the best of us. Side note: You really gotta love Anna's effort to diffuse the situation and the awkward air. That takes not always an easy thing to do.
