Nerf Rival 2023: Pilot vs Forerunner

The break action on the Pilot not only loads the chamber (Flare Gun) but it flips up and then pushes back about an eighth of an inch which seals the breach... and it is a crazy good seal, which is one thing that makes the mods so successful. At first I was unimpressed with the fact I couldn't flick it shut until I realized the way the break action actually had this functional purpose

Totally agree about the lack of being able to swing the pilot shut was a bit of a bummer. I couldn't begin to imagine how many times I sat and just opened and closed the flaregun.

i think the biggest takeaway about the break action, is that you have to not only flip it up but also push the barrel into the seal.

I love my Pilot. With the SF25TC spring, a few mega shells and a Barrel/scar insert I don't even shoot Rival balls much. 200+fps with half darts.

Reddit have a post that somebody make a "magazine release button" which can open the barrel I look forward to see more and more parts for Pilot. (i am looking for some rails can mount on it, also want a good sight)

I can see them dropping an attachable stock that bolts into the sling point and utilizes that round knob thing as a second anchor point to keep it on

Did it bother you that the Pilot didn't have the transclearant green front sight as a continuance from the other blasters of this line? Yeah it does bother me a little about the no translucent green front sight. Just such a strange choice of omission. It is definitely not interchangeable. All of the current rival line sights are integrated and non removable. Thanks for your continued support! 🙏 and for the great questions!

Yeah that and the pathfinder are definitely instant classics

Pathfinder was the biggest disappointment out of all of them. Coolest design ever and it fires like a potato. And the magazine update was atrocious. I even converted it to a short dart kit from AK Blaster Mods and a spring upgrade it was still terrible. I really had high hopes for that design.
