iv modified mines to shoot further by able to store more pressure. adjust the pressure release value to tighten, will require to take the soaker apart, also glue gunned the green bottle to the internal pipes to avoid leaks and pressure loss. so far works better than before and no leaks!

O wow, nice man ! Glad to hear you were able to mod it and getting it working better than before. We didnt use them after this. Even during the water fight when filming they were barley holding pressure. I think its more of a shelf item that looks cool for me

Im with you on that. I loved that it came out. Was easy to fill it up. It works nice as a display item I guess

@@RussLyman yeah love the nostalgic look and I guess the new xp100 tank is removable. Not screw on but still removable and refillable that way! Gonna have to get both for the kids.

Awesome review Russ! I didn't know they brought these back, I'll have to pickup a couple. I still have my original super soaker 20 and it still works. My SS 50 cracked somehow back in the day.

yeah Summer certainly flew by. But now Halloween is here so time for spooky stuff so thats always fun. Well there is always next year to have some more water gun fights with your sister. At least you got some fun beach time in this year 😁

I was suprised when i saw that in stores and it hit me with nostalgia, but didnt pick it up because i have the Hydro cannon super soaker from back in the day!

yeah they were pretty neat to see on the shelf. I was there the other day and they were on Sale too. Nice that you still have one from back in the day. The price certainly has gone up on them

I used to pump my super soaker up to the maximum , point it up to the sky , unscrew the canister , and let the canister rocket into the sky .

O wow ha, I never tried that before. We'll they won't let you do it with this version since the canister is permanently attached to the gun.

yeah I think they played on our nostalgia for them and they should be more of a decoration in the game room. during our battle I can see it losing some pressure.

This super soaker is a badass! I only changed there a mesh filter because it was made from steel a started to fall apart as a rust. Its trigger is bit stiff, but it is necessary to have a strong spring there because it pulls a rubber valve which gets stiff over time so the spring is still able to pull back and close the valve. Please guys don't try to lube that valve! Rubber absolutely hates oil, I found it out after doing it myself and my valve started to leak. Nothing terrible, but guys... you are safe to lube only plastic trigger so it doesn't stick that much. Don't do that valve.

The super soaker on jour shirt is the 200 I had it as a kid and now I own 2 of the vintage one's. With the same problem that the neck cord is attached to the back and the barrel. So it's prone to crack. Nice video man

yeah when I looked it up I was like oooo yeah ha. Plus with them being vintage it only makes the plastic that much more brittle, so def more of a show piece

I had the same one like this one when I was a kid, like you said. I think cause it was the common basic one. Maybe I need to pick a few of these up and have a battle with the kiddos!

it totally does. But I thought maybe just because we filled them with water from the ocean. But than again I feel the seal wasn't tight to begin with when I filled them at the sink before we filmed

I don’t like the way the 50 fires. It always spits for a second when you first depress the trigger. The 100 & 30 don’t have that problem.

all my friends and the reviews I have read say these are cheap and crappy, but If I remember the originals were also cheap and crappy( I kept breaking them). So how is the durability

Well these held up for the video. We did the water fight for around 20 mins and also filled them with ocean water and they still fire. So not sure if they would last all summer. But most things are definitely made with a different plastic than stuff in the 90s, making it "cheap feeling". If anything it makes for a cool display item in the room. But for $15 I'd say its worth it.

@@Leikjarinn Yeah for the most part I'm using the rode mic on the camera. I can attach it to my GoPro as well, but I need the GoPro to stay waterproof so I used the on camera mic. Since the GoPro 8 is already water proof out the box, it sounds the best. Steph was using my GoPro hero 3+ and that needed a water proof case, hence muffling the audio.

The XP100 just exploded after a few pumps and was never able to built up any pressure, while the XP50 works but leaks like an open faucet. Worst guns I’ve ever owned. Absolutely worthless.

So sorry to hear that. I will say I feel these did have issues building some pressure and firing while we were at the beach. Wasn't sure if it was because we re filled with ocean water. But yeah they are cheaply made and more of a looks good on the shelf item instead of functional
