@@julxalopez1402 You must be joking, the Rock-Gaara fight was an exact copy of the Goku-Vegeta fight, sometimes it even copied exact scenes, it's so similar that I'm convinced it was an intentional reference and the writer was probably embarrassed when he realized that his fans thought it was all his idea. By the way, it's interesting that whenever I ask people why they like Naruto, they literally always point to this fight.

like 15-18 years ago, rock lee scene in naruto is one of the most popular moments. story is well made with little hole for error/inconsistency. art and battle scene is what shounen genre lovers would dig into

I GET IT why kiara hates naruto. But that hate obviously came from.. like.. after naruto reached hundreds of episodes. me too.. I'm tired to watch naruto anymore after we enter the shippuden arc. i mean I still watch how akatsuki steals gaara's one tail beast. but not the great ninja war and even the madara arc thing in the end. even I don't watch the arc of jiraya's death. BUT I watched some clips on internet. even the meme/parody ones. like.. cartoon characters as akatsuki members XD. spongebob, Patrick, Sandy, Phineas, etc

To be fair, I know the og Naruto story, but even I got lost in that wall of words from Nerissa. Can't blame Tenchou for getting lost there, especially when she has neither prior knowledge nor interest in the subject. 😅 Edit: I appreciate the effort on Nerissas side, but watching the German version of Naruto (at least as it aired on TV in Germany) is a terrible idea. Not only was it heavily edited and censored, the Dub is also pretty sub par.

also, considering the geopolitics of europe at that time.. (around 1990s-early 2000s), it also affects kiara's childhood too I guess. but idk. it's like.. the years after germany reunited(October 1990), and soviet union dissolved and the conflicts after that moment, and Russia stuff... and the 1998 economic crisis and later in 2009 too. and the early years of European Union. her parents and other ppl probably prefer to watch some news back then.

@DBT1007 I dunno. I was born in the GDR, was 15 when the attacks on the WTC happened and were fully aware of the signing of the treaty of Lisbon but that didn't affect my taste in anime. Kiara is considerably younger than me and less affected by that stuff since she's Austrian (Austria is no NATO member). I doubt that any of that stuff influenced her taste in anime. 😅

I would normally agree its not good to talk someone's ear off that isn't interested, but its not like Kiara dislikes shounen or action oriented anime, she likes Railgun, its just she hard judged "because its shonen", and hey, one should take that as a loss and move on, but Nerissa is a KFP, so she knows Kiara is just being difficult and overly abrasive. Like that friend you know who thinks certain shows are uncool, a good example being how people back in the day said One Piece is too long and ugly looking, then years later, they become huge fans. Its kinda funny how anime fans can get splintered like this. Its definitely not that Kiara is above shounen like she says, she liked Railgun, and Index is very much in the same hookiness as shounen is, but the difference is obviously the yuri overtones lol. Probably heard a lot of stuff about the fandom and got turned off, which is a little overly judgemental (but this is Kiara, so thats not surprising), but she is every bit the dork as Nerissa is, just in other ways. I read the manga first when I was 14-15, back around 2002... and... I agree with Kiara. It was meh. Dropped it around art is bomb, when it was ended I caught up to it and was disappointed. When Boruto started, I just can't. At least it wasn't as bad as Bleach tho, can't even bring myself to catch up when it ended. Crazy how the big three became so big of a hit, making an era, but only 1 stayed as masterpiece while the other 2 just tapered off.

Naruto confuses me a bit; it has all these "jokes" and "twists" that are so predictable one would have to be severely stupid to not be surprised, so I just figured it was a show for severely stupid people. Yet people who can speak, own computers, and read seem to enjoy it, and I just have to think: how?! When Naruto jumps on Sasuke's desk for no reason, does the contrivance just not bother you? When Kakashi tells the kids not to eat breakfast and the obvious thing happens, did you actually not expect it? When Kakashi announces they failed, lectures them on not helping each other, then leaves them with the order not to help eachother, does the obviousness of the resolution really not bother you? The next arc is even worse. Aside from obvious setups and payoffs, the series mostly consists of annoying bickering and anime flails. I thought maybe only the first arcs were bad, skipped to episode 20, and was greated with incredibly abrasive bickering. I think watching more would give me an aneurysm. Naruto inspires the kind of hate that makes me yell at the screen, but it also draws my thoughts a lot. It is the second most painful anime experience after the third quarter of Guren Laggann.
