Remember that time when EA Sports just didn't use licensed horrible EA Trax music in their games? I sure did so I've decided to upload the brilliant menu music from NHL 97-99. Enjoy this metal sort of greatness.

I get the nostalgia because NHL98 was the first game to have an announcer and also it was in Finnish on the Nordic version before the match started! Hell, bought this game again :D

I always get cold chills when i hear this. So many hours spent playing this game, creating players, skills mode. Anybody got a video of the different skills games? I haven't found one yet. I'd like to have this on one of my windows 10 pc's.

Loved this game. It nailed the feel of momentum, had Olympic international players, and of course the best music in the series. This is what happens when the developers/publishers leave the talented people to do what they want. Endless series between My Mogilny-led Russians vs my Brother's Bret Hull-hungovered USA Squad. With an undercard of Japan (top scorer Masamura) and England for levity.

Great song on this great game. I jam to this music, editing the rosters as accurate as possible, according to the final 1997-98 season, looking up the transactions to this season. EA made some great music for their sports games and this is no exception.

I just finished trying the demos of NHL 04, 06 and 07. The menu songs suck so much I would turn off my speakers while I set up the teams and controllers. I wish I could replace the songs with NHL 98 music but they use some kind of proprietary files in the music folders.

Anyone who plays NHL 11 on the console, Should do what I do. Remove the horrible shitty EA trax.. and stream NHL 98/99/2000 and some 2001 songs using Windows Media Center with the 360.. right off your PC drive. I love playing NHL 11 with these old school songs.. really pumps me up.

I bought this game when I was 8, but didn't buy another NHL game until I was 13 (NHL 07) and have been buying EAs games every year since. Unfortunately, updated rosters and BAGM just arn't enough for me anymore...they need to start making REAL improvements to the popular game modes. The gameplay is alright but VS has so many glitchers and raggers it turns me off. Pre 2010 they were doing a good job, now idk...
