Are you also using my notes (docs.google.com/document/d/1zfwNPTaowfjGk0enwurg_NMR7FyB9CHS5PraxSYhQKs/edit)? Essentially, you will need to play against certain players throughout the game in order to force a distinct order of card rule changes. If the twins have any other rules still, you must have messed up somewhere earlier. There really is no easy remedy to bad card rules, which is why I pay attention to their flow in this speedrun so much. You can search in that document I linked for "Abolish" and watch the respective part in the video to learn more. Feel free to ask again if you are still unsure.

a question: dollet side missions and the queen of cards side mission are not counted for 100%? i guess the latter is because you can have all the cards anyway on disc4 but dollet stuff? like the dog bone mini mission or beating the bar owner?

Queen of Cards is skipped because you just need to get all cards (which you can do without ever talking to the QoC). As to Side Missions/Side Quests, only "major" non-repeatable ones are required (I know that it is pretty vague definition but there is a consensus among runners (they all do the same sidequests)).

I know this is a 7-year old video, but in the Missile Base on Disc 2, why do you wait to set the missile error ratio to max after triggering the self-destruction? I think it is faster to set the error ratio, fight the Elite Soldiers, trigger the self-destruction timer and escape the base through the back exit.

@@darktore1 There are some grind-heavy trophies (such as 1,000 and even more so 10,000 kills). You will need to do those on your own. Everything else should be covered in this video.

Because all of a sudden you have more than 2000 HP without having done a battle, and you are damaging more than 2000. But are you sure that in the video you show how to really do 100%? I arrived at 5:00:00am and you haven't done the CC group yet and changed a single weapon

@@darktore1 I show everything I do in the video. The CC quest is done in this run (I don't remember when exactly but it is definitely in there). As to my strength/HP junction, there is Triple Triad and Chocobo World to make use of. All the weapons are changed only at the very end because they are more or less useless to upgrade.

Yeah, it bugs me too, had to do some research, turned out it is part of the 100%. Wall, Rapture, The End, phoenix pinion need to be used once. He did it in Odin's fight because Odin would not attack.

Have you even played the game ? There's a system called Junction where you can put Magic to increase Strength or health or whatever you want. He simply knows what is the best things to put in every slots which is why he deals so much damage at level 9. Level doesn't really matter in this game

And it also makes the game even more easy. I think the first playthrough is the most important in FF VIII since you probably don't all the facts about the game and the best ways to use the junction system to your own advantage. Every time i played the game AFTER the first one, the MUCH lesser grade of difficutly or better spoken, my knowledge of the game, made it sometimes way too easy. And getting Lion Heart on Disc One is cool if you do it for the lulz. But the rest of the game is way too easy then, which in my humble opinion, loweres the fun. Just my 2 cent :)

Well, I'm only up to Trabia Garden at the moment, and had naturally assumed that you were planning to defeat them later on in the story (which is why I didn't post this comment earlier on), but then you said something after the first Fujin & Raijin fight about "Drawing the Brothers later on", which confused the hell out of me. After all, you don't really have to Draw the Brothers if you take the time to complete the TotUK sidequest - you just get given them naturally.

If you've never played CW, you can't know this but it actually plays itself for the most part. I do, however, sometimes click into CW and actively play it to optimize the Chocobo's movement and make it collect more items.

Ich habe die Attacken auch noch nicht insofern, als ich die entsprechenden Beat Em Up Magazine noch nicht gelesen habe. Das bedeutet aber dann nur, dass die Attacken nicht angezeigt werden. Man kann jedoch trotzdem alle von Zells Limits benutzen, wenn man die dafür nötigen Tastenkombinationen eingibt.

Love the run, just one criticism. All of the comments are in English, your viewers are clearly English speaking and you commentated the video in English. The story is hugely text based and we are forced to watch a lot of it. Unless there is a huge speed difference on the french version (which I'm guessing their isn't), you really should have done it in English considering the video is clearly geared towards (and watched by) an English-speaking audience. I would not have made this criticism had you commentated in French, nor would I had it been a shorter game where we have to watch less of the dialogue (like Zelda OOT / Mario 64).

Callum Kenny there is a difference in speed of the French version. It saves seconds over the run. In world record attempts you take every time save you can get, no matter how small.

The French version in PC is slightly bugged, which makes the text boxes close quicker. In an any% run it saves like 5 minutes, so must be even more in a hundo. Speed is what matters, you're not able to read the text anyway as he's mashing through them, so really doesn't matter!
