@DizzyDez6132 жыл бұрын
If you read between the lines, I think what she’s saying is that Nervosa wanted to lean more towards black metal, and Fernanda and Luana wanted to lean more towards death metal. Which is also kind of ironic, because I watched a Crypta Q and A, and Luana said she’d love to do a black metal side project. But a side project is a side project. And it would be damn near impossible for her to be in both Nervosa and Crypta at the same time.

Rocio/Diva has such a lovely smile on her, and it's always interesting to hear what a vocalist sounds like when they're not doing what they're doing. It's usually way different than what you expect--unless it was Lemmy, of course! More power to these ladies for pushing forward and keeping their music growing and changing! Big ups for women who play metal and add their own flavor to the proceedings.

"Diva Satanica" - Sweetest smile ever :P I feel proud for this band as a metalhead. Full of enthusiasm, talent, hard working mentality, message (on the whole). Smart girls, simple and authetic. I wish the best, cause they deserve it. Exta respect for the reference to Tristessa (R.I.P), I am from Greece too, active part of the scene sice 96 and I thank her for creating such a "movement" with Astarte. Great interview overall \m/

Hey Prika - pop music is way bigger than metal in America too, it's not just like that in Brazil. Metal has always been pretty underground, except for maybe in the late 70's/early 80's when Judas Priest and Iron Maiden were at the peak of their popularity. But even then, pop artists like Michael Jackson, Madonna, Cyndi Lauper and Duran Duran were way more popular. But that's cool - metal is for outcasts, not the popular kids. And Diva, you also can't quit your job to go on tour if you live in America or any other country either - lol

In Europe Pop Music is also more popular but I would say not as bad as in the US. In Germany Metal Bands often reach high positions in the album charts (like Kreator, Blind Guardian, Amon Amarth etc).
@dmitryowens3 жыл бұрын
@@flunkyballs4610 Well, yes - metal will always be less palatable to mainstream audiences due to the distorted guitars, heavy drums, and dark and/or rebellious lyrical content, and that's a good thing. I wouldn't want to see a bunch of middle school teenyboppers at metal shows - a big part of what gives metal it's appeal and makes it cool and different is the fact that it's music for outcasts, not the mainstream. But as I said (and you agreed with), it's always been more popular overall in most European countries (especially Germany and Scandinavia) than it is in the U.S., especially over the last 20 years. Metal hit it's peak of popularity in America during the early-to-mid 90's, and has declined steadily since then.
