I was 9 or 10 years old when I played this game for the first time in the early of 90's and that was one of the toughest game I have ever played...this was truly a cold war game...

The NES version of Russian Attack was HARD! I was born in 1973 in Seattle, and played this when I was 11-12 at first. The arcade version seemed a little bit easier.

We need you to destroy a nondescript “secret weapon,” and you’ll be heading alone into a heavily fortified enemy base with no backup and armed with nothing but a knife. Now put on this non standard issue, extremely conspicuous and loud bright blue uniform and make sure you conduct all operations in broad daylight. Good luck soldier!

Did anyone who played this as a kid have the Nintendo Players guide? it was a book with reviews, strategy guides and cheats for some games, Rush N attack was one of them but the odd thing that made me go crazy was that in the book it mentioned that if you blew up certain land mines in certain levels you would go to secret underground passages, so I desperately played and played for years attempting to find those secret passages to no avail, then years after I lost the strategy guide I wondered to myself, maybe I imagined it? so i looked it up, I bought the book online and there they were again, the secret underground levels! but they are nowhere to be found in the game, so I did a bit more research and found out there is a Famicom Disk version which is basically a copy of the game with minor changes like fewer lives and things like that but the secret levels are there as well....basically the review was from the Famicom version not the NES and why they didnt bother to mention that or why they had the levels removed is beyond me, at least i knew I was not crazy but only after 20 years or so.

I do not disagree. I just found it funny how all they gave the single commando was a knife to take on the entire enemy army but then again, they only sent Solid Snake in with a pack of cigarettes and a huge ass radio. ~JagOfTroy
