My brother bought this when it came out, he was a lot older than me and I used to stay up late watching him play. ( I’m 34). He’s dead now but this game and music reminds me of him and I watch a playthrough now and then. I could never beat this as a kid but got close. Happy memories, I’m glad to be an 80’s kid. I have a near identical experience but it was with the original Castlevania and my brother. Our NES came with a strategy guide instead of Super Mario Bros. so we had to save up for a game to play on the NES. We got Castlevania. The 8-bit games will always have a soft spot in my heart for the fun and memories of my brother playing.

With Grant: "Both feel their friendship has been stronger since they worked together to rid Wallachia city of evil. Grant will start to rebuild the destroyed areas of the city." With Sypha: "Syfa (sic), the Vampire Killer, has had a bad life, but since she met Trevor she is beginning to feel more comfortable with herself." The animated hack series in USA of Castlevania is garbage though. Games are good but Americans just dont give a crap about learning about culture, mindset of people back in past like ancient Europe or what not. Just anything they touch is garbage usually. I went through the whole video and enjoyed every second of it. Thank you so much for posting this amazing playthrough! You went through all the paths and made it look so easy. This was one of my favorite games as a kid, but it was far from being easy. I never managed to beat it.

I beat this game without too much trouble, but I struggled to beat Castlevania 2 because of all the mysteries.

Another great game that really showcased the power of the NES. This was also sort of the turning point of a great series. While it managed to revert back to the classic feel of the first game, it also retained some of the elements of the second game, namely a bit more story added in throughout the game play and less linearity.

Also beat this game back in the day with Sypha and Trevor, and I was using the NES turbo controller with the weird circular D-pad. 👍

There are 4, one for each of the 3 spirit helpers, and one for Trevor if he completes the game without ever picking up a spirit helper.

For anyone having a hard time on the boss fight level 9 (against yourself),I'm not as good as uploader, so you can kind of cheese him by shifting select often (disclaimer still not super easy lol), I have a decent strat for anyone not that good like myself. I jump to the right ledge, I stand on edge whipping and readying select. You're luring him to jump up there. I spam my whip, press select ideally when he jumps, his movements are so unpredictable, so I basically wait a half second the moment he jumps, this will drop him to the bottom level as he morphs. You can get 1 to 2 hits on him as he jumps, plus a cross hit. You can get at least 1 hit on him as he shifts and fall to the ground. Then I jump to middle shifting back to Trevor mid air and then run/jump to the opposite ledge. Rinse and repeat.. Buddy in the video makes this look so easy, very impressive. Don't be afraid to spam select to get around the area.

According to the manual, it is a Leg of Werewolf. Simon is luckier that they left him Chicken (or was it Beef?) in his games.

I played this game when I was a kid, and I lost the cartridge.... and later on I picked up castlevania 2, and got this game confused with castlevania 1.... and I was wondering if my memory was faded or something.... but no. This was the game that I played when I was little. I am going to get my paws on this game again once I sell some of the old games in my collection that I never play. Quality over quantity.

I'm thinking about buying another NES specifically for this game.
@dreamcast843010 жыл бұрын
Melissa Turner hell, I'd go for one of those hybrid consoles where you can play nes, snes, and genesis games together. You might save some money going that route.

***** Yea, the full experience of blowing in the catridge for 10 minutes. Ragequitting when the game freezes before you get the password. xD ~JagOfTroy
@stefanemilkropidlowskilars76919 жыл бұрын
CrazyasaFox The game probably freezes because of the bad practice of blowing into cartridges, whichs causes oxidation. blow it with something dry and cool or just wave it around a bit if needed.

imo this is much better than rondo of blood. multiple pathways, play as 4 different characters, more difficult and larger game. i think the reasons why hardcore cv fans consider ROB the greatest are: because it is a direct prequel to sotn; has anime cutscenes; not as unfairly hard as the "butchered port" on the snes; and it was released in an unpopular console with a cd based feature which adds a lot to its "cool" factor. rondo is better than cv4 tho

Don't care how old this is or what system it's on its epic and separates the men from the boys. Yeah it's tuff but that's what drives me to try and beat it. Incredible game.

My absolute favorite Castlevania game of all time. Multiple paths, multiple helper characters to get you through the game, or you could even go at it with no helper. My friend had two copies of the game many years ago, so he gave me one of them as when I'd go to visit him, and we'd play video games, I'd always, and I mean ALWAYS go straight to this game. I once had all the passwords written down for every stage for 1st and second loop for every spirit helper in the game, that's how much time I put into it. Still have my cart today, and even have the Windows PC Castlevania and Contra collection, where this game is on it, along with CV1 and Simon's Quest, as well as Contra and Super C.

@c.s.hayden30222 жыл бұрын
This thing still holds up really well. I might even say it has better and more precise level design than Super Castlevania 4. That was good too but the sprite size here doesn’t get in the way. And someone was actually trying with the music, like it feels like someone with influence outside of video games toying with composition.

Almost all Castlevania games have great soundtracks. Only exceptions I can think of are Harmony of dissonance and Legends
@Bloodreign12 ай бұрын
@@gv82089 HoD just needed better instrumentation, the tracks themselves aren't bad.
