i have all miniconsoles and all modded loads roms on each, my nes has 800 plus games and around 300 mastersystem too, well worth it for me, my kid and i play retro sundays on all the mini consoles and cant wait for the amiga mini too

I have the NES Classic, SNES Classic, Megadrive Mini and 2 PlayStation Classics....all modded to have many more games on them as well as other systems such as PC Engine and GameBoy. Was hoping the PC Engine Mini would be hacked by now but I guess that will never happen.

I love my snes mini. With hakchi u can run tons of emu's and with a propper usb extension you can expand the space and load a huge game lib

@@sadeness With additional external storage. Not on the built in storage. I was referring to SNES as well. On the SNES I can fit NES plus SNES, but on the NES it has less storage so it can’t fit both sets.

I got my mini nes and mini snes when they first came out, i also sent them off and got the full nes library installed on it, i sent my mini snes away to the same person and got the full snes library installed on it as well, it’s just nice to have them in my mini console collection, along with about 5 ps mini , a couple of mini sega megadruves, etc etc.

I've heard that the short cables probably have something to do with Japan being the primary market, at least for the original consoles. In the US the living room/family room (place where the TV usually is) can be quite large, especially in a single family home. If the room were smaller and you were to share the use of it with other people, then sitting relatively close to the TV might be a thing and not require a long cable.

naw, I specifically remember the marketting for this to be a desktop toy essentially. A long cable makes no sense if you're right in front of the monitor with the console so it makes sense they went with a short cable

I played one for the first time today at an arcade and I was so happy to find punch out because I have or had the original Mike Tyson‘s punch out and that was one of my absolute favorite games and despite that this is the remake it’s still fun I’m thinking about getting my own system real soon

I have the SNES mini, wasnt long before I used Hakchi to mod ,use a 128GB flash and add more systems. After that I moved on to the PS Classic, hacked, used a 256GB Flash drived for more systems and games. In the end I just wanted a retro machine that played systems these struggle with, I almost went with an android box but that wouldnt have been a big enough boost of power for what I wanted. So I went the Lenovo Tiny PC route and Batocera and never looked back, so much better. But for collection purposes I may just load my SNES mini internal storage with SNES only games.

With a flash drive attached with all the games, don't you lose 2 players because you always need the USB drive plugged into the player 1 port?

@@marccaselle8108 Nah, micro USB OTG adapter that plugs in the back power micro usb port. Has pass through for power and the usb port needed for the flash drive. That goes for the SNES mini and PS Classic. But havent turned them on for ages. Like I said, Ive moved on to a mini PC and Batocera for a multi system retro console.

I really don't mind with a short cable on controller, since a 8Bitdo N30 wireless controller will do just fine and has the home button to able to go back to menu. Overall, I'm very happy with NES Mini Classic. Just be careful with the clones/fakes that they're everywhere if you are interested to get this rare gem.

I have the original NES in the box. When these came out everyone was calling and wondering when I was going to get them in. I was never able to get them in, they were always out of stock. Then the novelty died off and no one wanted them. I think everyone found out their favorite games weren't on it.

That's my feeling too, and because of that I don't want one. I just put Retrocade on my SNES mini and have the 5 or 6 NES games I really want running on that instead. ;-) There's only so many HDMI ports on my tv/monitor, after all!

Some of them like 'Super Mario World 2 and 3' ended up on the SNES mini with upgraded gfx, but Mike Tyson's Punch Out and the original 'Batman' also made the NES top 5 for me. Along with "Trojan" which added a certain element of RPG compared to the arcade game as well as "Skate or Die" was also a NES gem, although not as good as the Commodore 64 original. Legend of Zelda was my introduction to the 'action JRPG' although I still preferred the western RPG stylings of Ultima 3 and 4, as well as Wizardry which was also released on the NES as well. I picked one up, loaded it with most of the NES library (of course a friend provided me with the roms), and put it in the party room where an occasional sloppy person can do little harm. Few are allowed to play the real deal with the Everdrive in the gaming room.

I like your work, keep it up. Well I love mini consoles and own a lot of them in my mini collection. Every Nintendo mini version that came out so far, neo geo etc.. I don't know how collectable they are for others but for me it's great to have them all it feels nice. 🙂 And yes, I hope they will be more mini collectors in the future. I wish there would be more youtube videos about the variety of official licenses mini consoles. Maybe you could do a 2021 video about the main mini Consoles that came out since then. I never bought the NES mini because I couldn't afford the system but the NES mini is nice but would rather have a console with many different consoles. I think that would be better just add a little more money and you can emulate a lot of different systems.

@Kenneth when I couldn't get a actual NES mini I went to retropie route and threw all the games I could fit onto that micro SD card. I have atari through neo Geo and Sega CD and Sega 32x and lots of arcade games and handheld systems also. I also grabbed all the boxart and descriptions too so it looks nice.

Can the original game cartridges still fit inside? I have so many games but my NES which still works btw from 1989 has issues cuz I have to place cardboard in the cartridge to press game down even though ive been doing that probably since 1991 😆 and wires arent working well as it keeps getting fuzzy so I want to get a new one. I still have duck hunt gun and I friggen love excitebike. Solomons Key and both Zeldas are my favorites though and my moms as well. I plan on buying 2 of these for me and my moms Birthday. So can our games still fit? If not how do I get more games on this newer system? I really need to get Solomons Key and Rygar etc

I picked one up seccond hand with a seccond controller. I'll be modding it when i get a chance. I got it for 2 reasons the first was to mod it but the seccond was because Nintedo chose to raid their parts bin and use the nunchuc conector which means the controllers conect to the Wiimotes and work as classic controllers

I have the mini,purely because I did buy an original but unfortunately couldn't tune it in through the aerial port .at the same time I did have a mini SNES,but never really played on it .... Only reason being is the mini NES has GRADIUS on it ,and I spent many a 10p in the arcade playing gradius ...the 30 games are ok ,and good reminders of the retro gaming ,and to buy them all as cartridges would had cost me more than the £30 I paid for mine ,and apparently, the these minis are no longer being made ,so they are going up in price Since I've recently got a raspberry pi ,I will get into that I'm looking forward to playing 'Phoenix' again ...among many many more Happy gaming everyone

I got my nes classic for a steal off my brother in law. I paid 20 bucks for mine I don't have the box or anything for it but for 20 can't complain! The preinstalled games I thought was solid but after hakchi god this thing is stacked! The controller cord is short as hell but 10 bucks on amazon can get extension cords way long enough! I never got my hands on the snes or genesis mini but still searching! I'm kind of on the fence about getting a retropie setup!For cheap can get retropie setup and controllers and emulate up to playstation 2 era as I read!

I've had this Nes Classic Mini since it first came out. It came with Hakchi pre installed. All Nes, Famicom, Sega and a libary hacked games. It kept the same Nes alphabet box art menu setup with a door to exit and select +down to exit game. The cardboard box is crapy, controllers are good on these

Back in the day, its only 5 years ago 😅 and I'm happy i didn't get one, 30 games only, different hardware inside, mini, short cables for controllers, weird joypad connectors? and not really a Nintendo feel. The only good thing Nintendo did, is get all these people to overspend on these things.... unfortunately, the good old Nintendo days are never coming back. What they should have done is just bring the good old NES and games back into production and sell these... they would sell even better!!! right?

The short cables was one of the WORST things about this. That, and the cost of extra/longer cable/wireless controllers

There were two main problems with this product. Nintendo screwed the pooch badly either because they totally underestimated the demand for this product and weren’t making enough, or because they purposely held them back trying to create a false demand until nobody cared anymore. Then you had all the SCUMBAGS out there that went to the stores as soon as they showed up and bought every one they could get, then resold them at ridiculous prices on eBay. I said screw it then, and I still wouldn’t buy anything from Nintendo now. Ultimately it was something that nobody really needed, and there were and are now better alternatives that could be had for less money.

All the games are emulated from roms Nintendo got from the internet. What's the point, if a $20 firestick will do the same? Nostalgia? Get a Pi4, a retroflag case, and play thousands of cartridge based games.

It’s not worth buying the Nintendo console in 2021 the Xbox series X/S and PS5 are the top best consoles to buy if you want to play the games that on the NES then go download mame 32 that’s free and play the arcade version the way the games are meant to be played this console back in the 80’s made me go buy arcade machines instead games such as teenage mutant ninja turtles and Pac-Man the NES plays like trash
