As a musician, I have never ceased to be amazed at the incredible feats of composition produced by these artists in the 80's and early 90's, especially considering with how limited their production tools were back then compared with what's available to us nowadays. It might just be my nostalgia, but to me 8bit synthesizers still seem to produce more stirring soundtracks than your average orchestral arrangements.

They were all good tracks, the Game over theme was awesome too. One of the best games on the NES, challenging but not cheap like ma y other games of the era. When you died it wasn't "oh come on" it was "shit, I messed up" I still haven't beaten the Joker, guy's almost impossible.

1:10:15 It was actually made as a game based on Terminator. However it took longer to make than they anticipated and by the time they were almost finished their license had experienced. The massive success of terminator 2 meant the license had almost tripled in value by then and they couldn't afford to renew it.

Snake Rattle 'n Roll - have to say it's one of my least favorite NES soundtracks from David Wise (I very much like Wizards & Warriors 1 & 2, ANoES, Battletoads etc. though). Very standard blues boogie inspired soundtrack (level 2 music is almost cringeworthy in that regard, with super standard blues boogie including some timing errors etc. imho).

Jim Vaughan Lol, to be fair, Unbreakable Determination/Master Ninja Theme has more of a Ninja sound to it than Overdrive though. Overdrive is more of a really cool rock song in my ears. @@KristianEmanuelsen If the rule didn't have a one theme per title maximum, honestly, Ninja Gaiden 1 & 2, plus Contra, Super Contra and all three Castlevanias could have taken up like half the spots. The music in those games are legit.

NES music is truly mesmerizing. I'm trying to find music from a game I never played, but I found the NSF long ago. I'm afraid I'm going to have to listen to a lot of tunes to find what I'm looking for. Woah! I just downloaded an NSF player before realizing zophar's domain has web preview!
